That one sold quick! Guess I'll have to log on to Fedora Lounge and/or eBay more often! :)

When I saw the location of the jacket, I thought, "Wilbur should get that; it's just down the road from him." Just down the road from me too, but about a size too large for me. Good deal. It looks like a nice one.

It should be fun going up to Taylors tomorrow they have been making leather jackets for years and even make a Buco J-27 version I am hoping to see. Getting this jacket should be cool too.

Who would sell a NWOT Aero in a popular size for only 2 bills? Shearling collar, wool undies.... hmmm. The jaded New Yorker in me would the proverbial "if it seems too good to be..." But mebbe you guys now the circumstances and the seller. I don't. Still... I'm not throwing stones... just askin'.

Disregard my comment I see it's a store and they've perfect feedback. You guys live in the land of the lucky...

Ok first off the jacket is Great!! I will get some shots up when I get the chance. I think it is pretty much unworn but an older jacket maybe a couple of years old. It is Heavy Front Quarter Horse and fortunately fits perfectly. I think the jacket is closer to a 44 than 46 the shoulders are 19" and the sleeve length is 25" with the back falling at 26" from the back of the collar but the pit to pit is 25" which for a Highwayman is perfect. So for a guy like me it's a perfect fit..Good Day all around.

Now to Taylor Leatherwear, they are essentially a contract company doing work with small Federal agencies and a number of Police departments. I checked out their jackets and the goat is superb though a bit glossy but nice and thick their Cowhide is thin and not nearly as nice. They use commercial accessories but decent quality. The factory is in the middle of nowhere and I do mean off a rural road and next to or part of a farm. Now don't get me wrong that's not bad it is employing people in a part of the country that always needs work and the production manager who showed me around indicated that everyone had been working at Taylors for years (30 years for him alone). He did say that they were using less tailors than in the past but the quality of craftsmanship was excellent. The only issue I saw was they were too dependent on contracts and were not looking for future busines through design or quality of materials. The company probably came out of the Varsity jackets and Police jackets originally but they no longer use horsehide and the jackets just loose something there. It's unfortunate because the setting is excellent the crafts people are superb (each tailor stamps their jacket with their initials) and the plant and it's surroundings are clean and well kept including the outside. I think they should use some imagination and work with better leather and they could easily turn into a Langlitz especially with the goat they are using.

Hey Thunderball:

If you are concerned about Aero I would not be Amanda and the other folks there are very good just make sure of your information and size before you custom order anything. There is the whole issue of additional cost like Vat fees (included in cost for America) + UPS Customs Fees (around $65.00 in the South) but they still make beautiful jackets that have excellent tailoring. There is also Lost Worlds in Jamestown, New York and I have to say Stuart takes Leather craft to an art form and is worth every penney of it if you are a standard size and don't want to go crazy in custom orders he is worth looking at.

Thanks again OTH.
I will look into those options. I will most likely order a jacket with no or very few options. I really like the Pioneer but my belly is bigger than my waist or shoulders! I have the physique of a 7 month pregnant lady. I need to lose a bunch of weight. I just need to find the willpower.
