I was looking at hats and thinking, well, brown is not so bad a hat color. I tried on a chocolate brown hat at Buckaroo and people there said its coloring was good on me. So I'd love to see pictures of hats with interesting contrasting and complimentary ribbon treatments. Mike had a pecan colored hat that looked great but I dont know if it would work as well on me. Sahara is too light I think.

So, let's see what you got?

Nice! Hard to imagine we don't have a thread on this already, but I like it.

My chocolate is tired, my camel is poor, my huddled masses of brown are yearning to breathe...

Ok nevermind.

I'll start with this one.
I love the color of my dark chocolate Bat Masterson bowler by Knudsen Hats. I wore it today, and am giving it some long needed woolen love.

I'm not a fan of brown hats (I do have a Brown Garrison Indy hat though), but I do rather like this Bates that I owned for a while.

I don't have many brown hats either.

However, my Dobbs Gay Prince, with suede finish, is one of my favorites:

And while I'm still in the queue for my Adventurebilt, my Christy's Adventurer in sable plays the part of my Indy lid:

1930's Stetson Special Homdora (a term I made up for those Homburg→Fedora conversions). Pardon the attire, as I am wearing my Grey Campbell for the day, but put the Stetson on for the photo.

OK, OK, so this one isn't a fedora, but it is brown (and you've gotta love Christmas presents from your mother-in-law)

Brown hats were a surprise for me. Never had much in the way of brown attire except for brown coats, shoes and occasional dk. brown sweater. Blue and gray were my primary colors.
My first 2 fur felts were mid-60's Stetson fedoras from the same person. 1 medium gray, 1 dark brown.
To my surprise the brown hat proved to be more versatile than the gray hat and had a richer nicer color than the gray.

I have about 10 or 11 hats in various shades of brown from dark chocolate to pecan to tan. A couple of favorites...

Some great looking hats. I agree that I think brown may work a lot wider than some other colors. The buckaroo hat in beaver/brown worked very well with my blue suit. I think it works better than black and is more versatile. Camel may work for me also.
