The best shilling I can offer is that I've got the closet down to only five jackets (leather) and ~four others. When I got the last one, I realized the closet was wasted space and having a few great jackets is the best for me. Plus, I gotta get some money for my daughter's needs and well, I've worn nothing but three jackets in the last three months. The rest gone or going.

I am thinking three is a pretty good number myself, but if you've got one with a shearling lining for winter wear then 4 doesn't seem excessive

I've four Aero's: a FQHH Hercules; a capeskin A-1; a custom Bootlegger (currently available on consignment at Insurrection); and the spiffy new 30's HB. I have had an Alaskan steerhide Highwayman, a VERY heavy steerhide Bootlegger; and a moderately heavy Bootlegger in a faded brown steerhide I did not like at all. There IS something about an Aero jacket, which is why this thread exists.

I'm not saying there won't be more for me - far from it. Just saying I'm not settling for even a B+ any more. Getting pickier and that's good. I wish I had more opportunity for really cold weather on a regular basis because I'd own an Aero or GW B-3/B-6 etc. as it is, the best leather coats are to good for really cold stuff alone and sheerling is not useful here that often. I'd wager when the dust settles, I'll have maybe two more jackets in the leather category and someday a B-series for travel. All I know is that if I'm not completely smitten by any jacket, it's going away.

I hear Japanese journalists are among some of the parties down at Aero for the trade fair today. I'm trying to think a situation where western journalists would travel to Japan and I can't come up with one (mainly cos we're lazy-assed). Anyone with any suggestions?

I don't think that's it. The Japanese are really into this stuff. Look at how many companies there are there doing repro American designs. It's jst not as big of a deal here...
