Interesting pattern. It, along with the last two, are a testament to just how much detail can be packed in a small space.
Far nicer than plain modern ones.

Yesterday I found three 20s (I think) bow ties:

Nice! Most of the ones I find are exploded. Literally, the silk on them explodes into shreds.

These are called Shield Bow ties.

After seeing many vintage photo's of bow ties with polka dots, I had to pick up a few even though they're not my favorite. As long as the dots aren't too big and look clownish I don't mind them. Here's one I got.

Nice. I like polka dots. For me, it's not the size of the dots that dictates whether a tie looks clownish, but the size of the bow itself. Neat 30s-50s bows, great; huge 70s bow ties.... fancy dress.

You are right Edward, the size of the tie does make a huge difference. I should have mentioned that as well.

I've got this exact same tie, but in blue.

I've seen duplicates of this tie in blue and red. It may have been fairly popular as I have seen quite a few like it. I purchased these two brown polka dot ones too but as you can see they are a different style than the red one.

I found these two at St. Vinnies today. The narrow one is a vintage Beau Brummel, the wider one is a newer Ralph Lauren Polo. $1.80 each. Both in great shape. The pic isn't the greatest. They look better in person.

So is IS possible to find Bow-Ties at thrift stores! I'll need to keep my eyes peeled the next time that I go!
