I did not see the Boss Raw Edge anywhere. I would love to get my hands on one of those. A couple of the hats in the Old West Collection look pretty cool.

I am not an employee of Hatco, Stetson, or Resistol. I am simply a western hat fan; therefore, I had no say in what Stetson decided to offer. Lol.
I had recently heard Stetson was going to have some new hats to mark their 150 years. I went in search of what was to be made. I came across the Hatco page and wanted to see what the consensus was. I am not familiar with the Boss Raw Edge hat, but perhaps they may have a few that fit the bill in the outlet store in Garland. (Fingers crossed)

I wish they would start making the Revenger in that tawny color like they did in the 1960's and 1970's.

I don't know if it's an urban myth or if the story is true, but someone told me years ago that the Revenger was sold with the hippie culture in mind because of Jimi Hendrix, Jack Bruce, and other rock stars being photographed with telescoped crown hats. Someone else told me that once upon a time telescoped crowns were "in" and gradually died out to the cattleman's crease that everybody and their dog wears nowadays.

I'm not sure if either story is true, but they make good stories.

One of the keys for the popularity of the telescope was Little Joe's hat on Bonanza.
TV Westerns had big influence & that was a very popular character on a hit show.

I'd love to get one, but not until I can hold one in person and check it out. Pictures are promising, but I've been fooled by those before with Stetson. Now maybe if somebody like Rusty or Tom Dean gets one and gives it a thumbs up, I might take a gamble. Those are opinions I trust, and guys whose taste in hat styles are very close to my own. Keeping my fingers crossed on this whole "new era of hats" phenom, it would sure be great to see Stetson be #1 in quality again. Frank.

If you are interested in the 150th Anniversary Hat collection, be aware of the fellow on Ebay selling these hats at $1200 or more. They can be purchased for less than that and for a good bit less at that.

Anyone get one of the Boss Raw Edge? I'm curious to see one in person, check out the quality. Hope to get into JJ Hats soon, they are the only ones I see advertising that they have them.
