Inspired by the recent LW thread and the Beautiful Jacket Cool weather here today. Always talk about Breaking in the heavy leather Lost Worlds Horsehide. I got out my three. The Test is the 4+ as Stewart Calls it. The Suburban must be the 4 and the Roadmaster the 3. The Videos show the difference.

This Video is the Test only. I bought it new about 3 years ago. It has been worn a good deal.

All three are in this Video with my narration.

I'd like to know how much it weighs. At 4+ 0z, I am thinking it is about 7 pounds. Around the same weight as my Johnson Leather, My Vanson Competition weight and my Aero Highwayman. If you have an accurate digital scale, you could weigh it and let us know.

I've got an old scale, but think I got it calibrated. You are correct. Test: 7.5 pounds Suburban 6 pounds
That jives with your numbers. I didn't weigh the Roadmaster.

I would not want anything heavier. I like the weight of the Suburban which must be around the 4 ounce at 6 pounds. My Steer Highwayman is close in feel to the Suburban.

Another great video Terry. Thank you for posting. Informative yet casual and friendly. Feels like we're right there with you, sipping a beer and talking about leather jackets. I wish Stuart would post these vids to his LW website. I have 2 LW's in my stable but I'm suddenly tempted to get a third.

I owned a LW HH Jean Jacket with detachable collar wich I really wanted to keep, but just too big. Also had a HH Cafe racer; too big also. I just saw a size 44 Heavy Steer LW Suburban on ebay that sold on one Bid for $400. Seemed to be be a bargain. It was also Brown. I have never had his steer or brown. Just the Brown Vest.

I need to get that zipper fixed on my Suburban. Problem is finding someone who will sew that heavy leather. I would think I could just have the pin side done if I can source that side.

I like the Roadhouse which has shown up here by a proud owner.

Thanks for the Video compliments! Perhaps I should have Beer while I'm doing them. I did at least three others that day. They will be coming out soon. They will be starring a Good Wear and some Vintage Black HH jackets.

Very nice collection. Anyone have a photo of a raider being worn?

I have an old Raider. Don't wear it much as it's slightly short in the sleeves and body... but I should.

Seems to me that Lost Worlds goatskin changed since mine was made. The old stuff on this jacket is fantastic. The newer stuff is great but different, a bit more matte?

Here's my Suburban in black goatskin for good measure. Based on my experience with other LW jackets and the measurements I have studied when they are sold on eBay, I ordered it with a bit of extra length. Looks a bit long with just a t shirt but I usually wear this one with layers which makes it perfect.

Thanks for sharing those two photos. Both are very attractive jackets. High quality goatskin is like soft armor. I have some on my langlitz.

The sleeves look ok to me on the raider, but it does seem a bit short on your waist? How tall are you? LW seems to not want to give longs unless you are like 6' 2" or above, but I think some guys fall need longer than
average and shorter than a "tall". Guess that's one thing about Langlitz custom sizing which is nice. I have a very average height and normal/athletic build, and my arms are a bit longer than average.

What you say is very true. There is an occasional 6' guy out there with an unusually long torso that will need a back length as much as 28". Although I am 6'2" I have very long arms and legs but somewhat short torso in relation to my height; so 26.5" back and 27.5" sleeves work best for me. It's all about proportions.

My LW Raider is a 46 long. I'm 6' 1" and have a regular/slightly long torso and long arms. My preferred jacket measurements are similar to Fanch. My Raider jacket measures 27" sleeves and 27" back length and is just about a perfect fit for me.

Did you get yours in goatskin too?

Yes it's goat. Bought it about a year ago. The goatskin has a slightly matte finish, is thick yet flexible and has lots of nice pebbling and grain.
After watching the video posted here, I might get a Suburban in goatskin...or a Test jacket in russet horse. Decisions, decisions!

I'm sure Lost Worlds goatskin is good quality.
