That is a great looking jacket! I outgrew my old G8 and had to sell it, but I enjoyed the look of it and it wore like nails.

Wear it in good health!

Ok, ok, I admit it; after reading this post and seeing the photos, I decided I just HAD to have a U.S. Authentic G-8. I opted for their standard mid-brown goatskin with an extra inch in sleeve & body length. The goatskin has some great sheen and luster (nothing like their rather bland website photos) and is a very substantial weight with excellent drape. Only afew days of wear and the grain is really popping with zero break-in required. Shaul was a pleasure to deal with, answering all my e-mail inquiries in a timely, professional manner. This is a great spring/fall jacket. Thank you @Hypoxic

Yeah!! Very, very nice, way to sneak that one in there! :) Hey, I've got the Stampe all bridled and saddled and ready to go! So grab some headgear and get strapped in! Daylight's a-burnin!

Me? I love the way this jacket lays along the small of the back once the side straps are adjusted, it just feels good.

+1 to tempting. I had myself on the U.S. Authentic website "configuring to buy" last night. Two total winners in this thread with the G-8.

Shaul is really good with the test jackets; really quick turn-around times, even for me overseas. The entire process was enjoyable and went off without a hitch. For you guys State-side postage must be lightning quick. I really looked forward to each new size arriving to try out, till I got, "The One". Then I just altered it a bit.

The G-8 is a great hybrid Indy/barnstormer/ersatz 1930's Navy flight jacket that is functional, stylish and has a military flair that I love. It's overall look harkens back to the golden age of aviation (1920's-1930's): open cockpit bi-planes, Pan Am Clipper flying boats, and newspaper headlines featuring the names Lindbergh or Earhart.
The US A customer service was first rate; I ordered a standard size 46 try-on jacket for sizing and once I worked out the details with Shaul regarding my preferred measurements and afew custom options, I had the custom jacket in 48 hours! :)

That is an insane turnaround time. Record set.

Thor you should show us the back - that's where this jacket pattern really has it over the Indy. A cool and slightly different twist to the half belt.

Just can't decide if I want horse and it's between the G-8 or an all black A-2. Maybe a "Felix" patch.

Nick. If you're So.Cal. You'll probably want the goat. Being a born and raised San Diegan I can attest that the HH is a bit heavy for the region. If you're No.Cal or Mojave desert, go for the HH. And me, I prefer this G-8 over my A-2s.

Ah, but at least you know you've got it! And it'll be ready and waiting for the Fall ...! Excellent. It looks great, man.

How do you like the zipper? I looks pretty robust ... is it YKK?
Thanks.

Sorry, I didn't answer this before...

The zipper is very heavy-duty brass, more so than my G-1s. I've looked for markings but don't see any. And I do like it.
