Thanks Mike. I do like the simple ellegance given by the crisp lines of a simple center dent with this homburg. I need to make more head time for this hat.

Nothing wrong with that. As you know, many of us here prefer the imperfections associated with a hand-creased crown--they give our hats character and make them uniquely ours.

I gotta say, I'm really not liking those hats with the jesus cross in the middle of the diamond crease. What is up with that???

I must say I never thought of it as a "Jesus Cross" , just a cross, but I suppose it is in the eye of the beholder.......
As far as why, I have some bars (these can even be seen in period photographs, tv and movies) on some hats and full crosses on some of my shorter crown hats, the reason is simple, it is a good way to raise the center of the crown.......keeping it off my big head yet preserving a C or Diamond crease........ I really dont like the crowns of the hats siting on my head.......

One of these days I need to try an OR with the brim slightly up like this.

I also did some work on the crease of the Navy Gannon while sitting at our display table. I refined the front pinch and the tall front crease of the diamond. Love this Gannon, it will be put in the rotation this winter. Not just a special occasion hat anymore.
