Favorite Keeper Leather Jackets

This isn’t a particularly rare or expensive jacket. But I don’t think rare and expensive was what Van was asking to see. In fact, when it comes to leather jackets, “rare or expensive” doesn’t necessarily translate to “favorite and keeper”. There probably isn’t even a good correlation between the two.

This g-1 is a good argument for that proposition. It’s a NOS Orchard that I bought new...directly from Orchard. It’s just a plain-Jane, cowhide, e-series G-1. It isn’t collectible. It has no historical value. And it has no mojo from flying sorties over Hanoi or Baghdad. But it’s my jacket. My creases. My scars. My beer stains. And though I have more collectible G-1s, this is the jacket I almost always reach for when I want to wear Navy leather.

That G-1 looks so cool on you.

This B6 is just so beautiful!
Yes, it is an exceptional jacket: never too heavy, never too annoying for movements, never too bulky.
My next jacket will be an Aero A2, maybe for the spring of next year...It will be in Seal Jerky Horsehide, seal or caramel knits...Contract 38-1711-P or Bronco W535AC29191...I've to discuss with Holly which contract is the slimmest fit for arms and torso, and which one is less bulky....we'll see....

I hate this thread because I have to admit... I got it right the first time

I would fantasize that 30yrs from now I would be a crazy cool 70yrs old in my grey jacket, but probably this black jacket would work better, this one is roomy but doesn't look boxy, long enough and minimalist enough to be worn in most situations, the weight is about right with 1.6mm hide.

but for now, I rather these latest 2

I love my goatskin jacket too, but at times it makes me look too skinny which gather comments (from fat people) about how I should eat more etc.

somehow the leather creases under the breast pockets that looks like ribs, maybe that's why it makes people think I'm the one who need to eat more, see that's why I prefer thick hide.

I would have to disagree, you got it right every single time! :D

More seriously, it's true that thicker hide works better here. If you were to ask which of the 3 first jackets I prefer, it would be difficult.

@Cooperson, good choices, good leather and good fits. You wear them well. My first Aero was also a Highwayman. Like you, I have managed to hold my Aeros to three as well. Good to see you back again.

@Peacoat I remember the photos of your Highwayman, many years ago, great looking jacket. Had so much going on lately, all things leather jacket related have taken a back seat - hope all is well your end.
