Limited Edition Schott Perfecto in Horween

Schott calls the color burgundy, but it looks like it might be cordovan. A bit pricey at $1250. They're only making 50 of these. I really like my D-pocket 1928 pattern Schott CX113 in natural Horween.

This is in Horsehide, for the record. And it is color #8, according to a Schott email I just received:

"Our limited edition Horween Chromexcel horsehide Perfecto is a beautiful burgundy color named "Number 8" for the eight color layers applied to the skin. "

There is a P613S, in Horween Steerhide, similar color as well, for those who would like one hide over the other.

Yes indeed. I had an SB jacket in this same #8 and it's nearly indistinguishable from cordovan. I believe it's called burgundy. It's a bit more purple than Cordo. Wonderful hide.
I love this jacket. If the belt weren't fixed I think I'd like it even more.

Nice leather, but really not a fan of the ***metal hardware.
Schott always uses giant zippers and seems to always want to use ***metal or black everywhere!
To me it looks cheap compared to nickel or brass.

I agree..shiny Brass on this jacket would be pure class.

I dunno...Aero cost me $1100...same hide, construction is likely just as good and zero wait time...if I hadn't cured myself of cross zip lust I'd be mighty tempted.

I own both Aero and Schott, and Aero are definitely a step up construction wise.
Schott attention to detail is non existent, good enough and fast is how they do things.
Leather edges are trimmed badly and left apparent, stitching is not what i would called neat, long threads are left everywhere.

I think Schott made sens a few years ago, when they asked $450 for a 141, but i would never recommend them over an Aero at the current price, even less so for $1250.

They did a CHP jacket a couple years ago in this same leather that was quite stunning. For this price though I would definitely go for a custom jacket instead.

The 118L and 100th anniversary perfecto I had was put together as good as anything else I've ever owned. I know they made lesser jackets under the Dur-o-jac label during the late 70's-80's but my experience with their more recent stuff has been as well made as Aero, Vanson, etc...don't want to start the old debate, truthfully I'm far more likely to go full custom as well, but I do think Schott will be on par with the everybody else. Perhaps @Kuro will grace us with some up close and personal photos of his incoming jacket and we can put a fork in the debate and call it done.

To be honest I love Schott's and I don't find such a huge difference quality wise with Aero's (I own and love both). My objection to Schott is that they do not offer simple customization as sleeve length (well, they do but it is a different story) and the fact that their prices increased a lot the past years.
Edit: yes, the attention to detail is less than Aero's but still they offer a great product- I own a 618 in both steer and horse).

Ton I agree. Their level of customization is subpar. But they are not a customization heavy seller. They are otr (off the rack) I bought the 613sh this year. It’s the slim fit, horsehide version of the 613. And it’s listed as using 3-3.5 oz hides. Mine is certainly the 3.5oz. It’s thick as far as Schotts go, fit is perfect and it’s stitching and hardware are spot on. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorites. I just wish I knew this burgundy Horween was coming out just a few months after this purchase. Not to debate all over again but as far as OTR jackets go Schott is king. Especially these days check out how many options in styles and hides they have. Plus the amount of attractive collabs they’ve been doing. But if you’re fanatics like us who want and know absurd things about hardware and stitching and fit. Yeah I wouldn’t go anywhere near them. Just wanted to stick up for them for what they are. They are not Vanson, or Aero. But they do fill a niche and that niche they are very good at.

They do pay more attention to their limited edition stuff, but I agree with you generally on your other points.

I agree with you Carlos. I have a couple of Schotts that I purchased within the last five years and both have loose threads in the quilted lining along with just about everything else you mentioned. If I can find close to my sleeve length for riding, I think they are good enough. However most are just too short in the sleeves for me. I certainly wouldn't pay even close to Aero's prices if the fit wasn't right and no customization was offered, no matter how nice the leather seems to look. I go Vanson for off the rack. Most of their MC jackets are an inch or more longer than Schotts. Both of my Schotts measure 25" where my Vanson is 26".

I’m fortunate to live close to a Schott store and for me personally the ability to try on a jacket in person, or several jackets in a 30 minute visit trumps the potentialy minor diminishment in quality. However, none of their current offerings do much for me (though of the maroon cross zip had a D pocket i probably would have bought it this past satuday).

I agree HD...Vanson seems to get the fit much better in the lengths. I prefer comp weight to schott's standard, garden variety leathers as well. But I think these limited edition jackets raise their their game. Or I should say they raise their game to meet the jacket. Would love to see a thorough review of one of these with lots of pics. I suspect they attention to detail might surprise folks...and if not, well that'd be good to know as well.

I remembered the shoulder wide is 18 for size L, and 26 in back length, It is thier slim fit pattern, I much prefer thier 618.

With horween hide I will only go to Aero or even Simmons bilt, why you spend extra money for something not superior?
