Well you have many more than two in each party campaigning against each other until it is whittled down to just two candidates.

They wore helmets and parachutes in case they were shot down before reaching their targets. Then they may have survived to try it again.

This last question..I have no idea.

Normally I charge $20 to answer three 'kick the bucket' questions. However since I failed to answer the last one I'll give you a $5 discount.

How much gas is wasted while waiting for red lights when there is no - zero - cross traffic.

I note that the newer Cadillacs have an ECO setting that seems to shut the engine off after a few seconds and restarts when you touch the gas. Having grown up in the carburetor era, it was even money that the engine would die - you never shut it off till you get to your destination.

Ron Shipman, owner of the Rubayiat, Dallas's beatnik coffee house in the '60s-70s, sang an updated version of that song. I had no idea it originated in the English music hall.

In the Old Testament, why was Lots wife turned to a pillar of salt?

Why salt?

Because she was not sweet.
She abstained from sex with Lot when they had an argument over trifle matters.
Lot took a lot from her until the Almighty
intervened and made her saltier!

At least that's what my Uncle told me
when I was a kid. :(

Why did so many women in the Era swoon over Robert Taylor -- a man with the looks of a piece of Yellow Pages clip art, the charisma of a bottle of warm skim milk, and, by all accounts, no threat to Clifton Finnegan in the brains department? Ned Sparks was sexier, Harry Langdon was more robust, Spanky McFarland a better actor, and Cliff Nazarro's public pronouncements made more sense.

As for female baseball broadcasters, Betty Caywood did some broadcasting for the Kansas City Athletics in 1964, Mary Shane worked for the White Sox in 1977-78, and Suzyn Waldman has been part of the Yankees' broadcast team for quite a while now. I hear her while tuning around from time to time, and Ithink Waldman's a better broadcaster than her hokey blowhard partner John Sterling.

Caywood and Shane were hired as publicity stunts, and they both knew and resented it -- but Shane, judging from surviving recordings, was better than she's given credit for. She was hamstrung by having to work in the same booth as Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall, both of whom disdained her on the basis of her gender, and consistently tried to undermine her on the air. God forbid big stwong mans might get girl cooties.
