My modified Sidewinder just arrived.
Great smelling leather.
Stunning feel and look to the mid weight black cowhide.
The jacket weighs in at just over 8 pounds. Heavy and as thick as Lost World's 4oz plus horse and Aero's 4oz Steer but is more supple to the touch. No flaws in the leather. Smooth durable silky lining. Heavy duty zippers are standard.
Custom fit that cannot be beat. Can be worn on the bike or around town.
Soft goatskin lined pockets.
The best customer service imaginable.

Are those zips on the sides instead of laces? If so bravo sir. Bravo.

Definitely Zips instead of laces. Never liked the lace look and these are immediately adjustable. The side zips give allowance for comfort on the motorcycle and are a substitute for have the front zipper stop well before the bottom hem. But that looks cool to me too.

@sweetfights , thanks for the photos! That thing looks 4mm thick...

BTW, if anyone's considering it, better move fast. That brown heavyweight cow is all they have left. Once it's gone, it's gone.

And I just want to second what @jacketjunkie said about the range of motion. Of all the top makers out there, Langlitz makes the most comfortable jacket. You put it on and forget it's there, regardless of the weight or the stiffness of the leather.

The journey to Portland to get measured at their store is as exciting as finding the new jacket waiting at the doorstep. Lovely people, and as patient as they get with nit pickers like myself.

They do offer several different options when doing the pinstripes. I found the best idea west to send them pictures of a jacket with the exact style of pinstriping I was after.
Here is a shot of my modified Cascade with pinstriping and three point western yoke:

I wonder what ever became of wearekoalas...they were based out of Dayton, Ohio and regularly sold some really incredible vintage leather m/c jackets and WWII peacoats. I bought from them often but they seemingly disappeared.

Nice! Interesting to learn they offer different options on the pinstripes. Langlitz never mentioned it when I ordered my Cascade from them last year. But I'm happy with the way it turned out.

I’d say it tuned out very well indeed Technovox!
I’m not surprised that the guys at Langlitz didn’t mention anything about the different options for pinstripes because I had the same experience when I was trying to figure out all the details I wanted on my order It was almost like playing the game 20 questions, where you have to ask them if they can do something or how it would look and then make your decision based on their answer. I found the Langlitz Japan website and blog to be invaluable sources of inspiration. I would copy photos of jackets or specific features of jackets that I liked there and email them to Scott at Langlitz. That’s where I learned that you could do either two or three pinstripes, you could change the sweep of the pinstripes, and you could vary where they stopped at the top.
