Wasn't there a gent on here that got Aero to make him a cloth one a few years back, if memory serves he supplied his own material, looked good as I recall.

EDIT
Just noticed it was earlier in this thread, lol, pics have been bucketed though.

Lovely colour, just needs a little beating up. By that I mean just wear it whenever you can.
Mine is also steer, looks great and can be worn with or without the belt, rather tie it behind to be honest.
I don't own that coat, but I wish I did!
Is that cordovan or cherry? I've been daydreaming about one of these in cherry for a while, not sure I have the guts to wear one though. I have a bootlegger in cordovan but this is a step beyond that.
Fully agree, looks awesome! What is it, cherry cxl?
I have no idea what the colour is, it was for sale on StyleForum at one point, the seller called it "burgundy" and described it as Chromexcel Steerhide. I'm not seeing anything listed on the Aero website that matches, but I'm not knowledgeable about these coats so hopefully one of our members will know.

Aero have done some odd colours, some work with various designs, others don't. My favourite is a brown that has the appearance of a fresh Conker(Horse Chestnut), next is Cordovan, a deep red brown that can look like a dark shade of Dr Martens Oxblood. This coat may be cherry, not often seen but they have made a few jackets from that colour, I think they even did a bike jacket I saw at the Grand T sale and reported on here, plus maybe the odd Highwayman.

^ Thanks for the clarification re colours. I like that burgundy/cherry colour, but I agree a chestnut brown would probably be ideal. I've been mulling over a 3/4 length belted leather coat for a while now and these look great, although I think the bottom row of buttons is positioned too low, and I'd want calfskin rather than horse or shell cordo horse.

Here's one being worn, and which is worn-in:

Anyone got any advice on where to source a good repro M1938? Ideally US/ European/ Japanese made. Real McCoys make the perfect one, but I'll never be able to afford it.

It's got a steer hide label in it but weather it started brown or cordovan I'm not sure. Do Aero do cordovan steer?

EDIT
Seems they do

Can anyone comment on the fit of Aero Barnstormers? I'm sure they fit "true to size" but that can mean different things to different people. I'm a 42 and I'm wondering if a 42 would be snug or roomy.

I think they’re quite large for their size. This is me wearing my size 46 Barnstormer. I have 50” chest.

I have a Cheyenne, which I think fits the same. It’s a roomy coat, I have a 43 inch chest and I wear a 42, which still gives me room to layer comfortably.
