Hey Tony you should check the soon to be released Brave Star Sherpa. I have the 22oz Ironside jacket (unlined) and is crazy good quality for the price and the fit is perfect.
Check it out here: https://bravestarselvage.com/products/the-ironside-sherpa-fleece-12oz-selvage-denim-jacket

Hmmmm tempting.

The only sherpa I've owned was a Levi's - and I lost it last season (got it on clearance for like $40). Their fits are always killer; I have a 3sixteen x Self Edge trucker I've been waiting to actually wear since it's still too hot in LA, but this sherpa would be a great add to the stable.

Anyone comment on Brave Star's fits? I've seen there denim jeans and they don't intrigue me much, but this is a great deal for a sherpa.

Dammit! I hopped on the Brave Star bandwagon as well. 14oz unfinished sherpa. This forum is hell on the bank account!

Better than the watch forum at WatchUseek. $400 to $7,000 a pop. TFL is like the methadone for the more potent habit of wristwatch addiction.

Does anyone use leather conditioner/protectant on the leather label before they soak or wash their denim jackets? Probably an overkill but I quickly smeared a little Obenauf’s on the label before dunking the jacket into the drink.

I bought their 101J style jacket which is made in their slimmer (steadfast) cut. The fit was practically identical to my Iron Heart 101J, seriously within fractions of an inch on all measurements.
I’m not sure about the fit of the Sherpa, but I am anxious to find out!

Hmm, no harm done by applying condirioner on jean leather patch since they face out or covered by belt, but on jacket it face in against your clothes and it is right on the spot you might sweat and transfer the conditioner to stain your shirt.

I see somewhat a beginning ( very beginning) of some fading on the sleeve and pocket flap on my indigoxblack after maybe 5 months of wear, almost nothing on the indigoxindigo jeans of 9months.... and here i thought indonesia is the land of the fadez. certainly dont have rugged lifestyle enough to record character on them even frequent morning walk and morning sun dont do anything, maybe motorcycling when the sun is up and hit dusty road on speed would work better.

That’s interesting, thanks. I figured once the conditioner saturates into the leather, not much of it will transfer. Certainly hasn’t happened with my leather goods, like the Brooks leather seat on my bike, the leather notebook cover I’ve used for years, or the watch bands and bracelets that I wear often under my sleeves. I’ll report if I discover that the little leather patch starts to bleed leather conditioner (although I can barely feel its presence after the soak).

Huh. Soaking wet but hanging stiff like it’s been out in the desert for a hundred years. Inside-out and bloated with water:

Here, sitting tall and drying quickly (still inside-out).

The 18oz indigo-on-indigo is like armor. I think I’ll enjoy breaking in this IHJ-72 Type II to achieve high-contrast fades.

navetsea, this is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve heard someone reference “morning sun” on denim forums in similar context. Is there something about morning sun, or sunlight in general, that affects denim? Thx.

Er no, just more bearable for walking under it, midday sun here is too intense for fun walking. Sunray in general UV will fade/ bleach color, kill bacteria/ mold to some extent i guess, thats why denim people who rarely wash their pants bake them in the sun i think, it fades the color and kill the odor causing whatever germ. But i read elsewhere cotton need some humidity in their fiber to stay supple and strong, when the pants is baked too dry it might get crispy and easier to develop hole or tear in the fabrics when being worn afterward.
