Really nice! What would you say their quality of construction and leather compare with US Authentic and Lost Worlds?

Original Willis & Geiger WWII M-422 jackets are of course very collectible and very well made. They did after all design the M-422 jacket for the Navy and received several wartime contracts. The company went thru ups and downs over the years before going out of business in the 1990’s. If you can find a 1980’s vintage W&G G-1 then they’re definitely worth the effort to find one in the right size. Mine is made of midweight russet goat with excellent construction and craftsmanship. However quality control was all over the place as different parent companies owned W&G before their demise. Some jackets are superb with exceptional detailing and top -quality materials while others are cheap, mass produced junk. It’s hit and miss.
I’d rank vintage W&G in the Gibson Barnes, Cockpit and US Authentic category.

That is quite a set of tires on that motorcycle. Headed out for a run through the wilderness? Or at lease some gravel/dirt roads? Looks like fun.

Depending on the year if built the regulations in Germany to get a motorbike roadworthy are more or less strict. My PAN was built 1948 which makes it rather easy to fulfill legal requirements.

For vehicles that old you don‘t even need turn indicators.

Tyres are copies of threads which have been common in the 1940ies to 1960ies produced in Japan (this they are ******* expensive) and are actually made for off-road use ...

After all that resto-work I just mounted them for the look rather than for actual dirtroad use - simply I want to keep the value of the bike

I miss the old Balorama. The new ones are not good and just don't feel the same like when I used to buy them regularly in the early 90's. They were heavier and far more robust. The new ones are plasticky in comparison.

Very cold in the Chew Valley this morning (-4 degrees Celsius) so tweed is the order of the day.

I’ve just been listening to Kings of the Wild Frontier (Adam & the Ants, 1980). There’s an ear worm, and that Hussar’s pelisse (I dearly wanted that jacket - the epitome of cool). I had heard/read that it was the same jacket that Hendrix wore -any truth in that?

I haven't got a pic unfortunately, but today I've been wearing my Type II as a mid layer underneath my old Barbour International.
It seems I can't leave the house at the moment without wearing the Type II in some way or other.
