Super, super find, Steve. I can just imagine how good it looks on your head. For me, it has a pre-war look, style, and feel to it. Either way, great catch.

Steve, Thanks too! You could be right about the time period. I am just not sure why Hutproduktiv Wien would use French. They also used German on the same label format. Can you make out the hand written word under Qualité?

Steve, I think perhaps the solution as to why Hutproduktiv Wien used a French label lies in the fact, as you pointed out in another thread, that they were part of the French district of Vienna after the war. I think the components of this hat are pre-war and quite possibly put together after the war.
It's hard to read the handwriting under the designation Qualité, but with English eyes it could look like "Renewal", which would fit in with the ideal of the regeneration of Vienna and Austria after WWII.

Steve, Also possible it was made by C. Messmer Wien and it fell into Hutproduktiv Wien hands post WWII.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Plume", 56 cm, 136 grams, possibly late 1930s. Great felt finish and the condition is excellent.
