Is it an off the rack jacket?
I think you need the chest circumference but 2" less shoulder, sleeve length and body length.
I second the others, that a trucker jacket has to be more short and trim.
No it was Shawn made to measure based on a 2000 Levi’s type jacket that fit well but I might have padded it by an 1 in here and there

As has been said---fit is very subjective. Personal Preference of the jacket owner trumps all.

That said, to my eye, Chest is fine. But overall its a bit large fitting. I'd say 1.5" shorter sleeves (maybe 2"), jacket length, and shoulder width. I tend to like a little longer fitting jacket than some in the Lounge but this is still a bit longer than I would prefer especially in a Trucker. Not every jacket style is for everybody but to me, IF you are gonna go for a certain style/model like a Trucker--you try to stay true to the spirit of that design and the fit it was designed to have. These are designed to be more fitted and certainly shorter.

Not a bad looking jacket though overall and depending on your locale, some creative layering could help some aspects that we are saying are too big. The length of the jacket and the sleeves probably cannot really be remedied much by layering.

The perfect fit is something we are all in constant search of. If this one doesn't have it, the next one will!!!!! That's the jacket addict mentality brother!!! Still a nice one man!!!!

Of course I love it never had a leather trucker . That why I want the comments for the next one cause I gave the made to measurements to him but I kinda padded them about an inch and also based on a 50L Levi’s I have so any way you live and learn - for the next one for me . The distressed brown goat hide is pretty heavy and warm and nice color with room for a hoodie fo sure

This is how it looks in person but the lighting not great to capture the proper color it’s a little darker but from the ad picture and these you can get a good idea . These had the stock buttons before replacement. The fit pictures has the replacements except the four in the back cause it came in a 12 pack. Stock distressed brown goat hide. Definitely a substantial heavy jacket .

I agree with the previous quote that the shoulders and sleeve should probably be 1.5" less. With regards to the length, my own trucker jacket is also long but it was design more as a over shirt than jacket.

Even my 1990's Levi's Trucker is 26 inches at back in a size XL. If you are not young, tall and lean, the shorter jacket may sit oddly and be less forgiving than one an inch or two longer. But 28 is almost a car coat, unless you are six foot five.

I've also change my mind on back length in recent times. I'm still in the longer camp, but I've dialed it back an inch or so.

Bye the way it still smells like heavy leather , no chemical smell whatsoever
It’s still squeaky. Ordered Sept 24th and delivered on Oct 1 is unbelievable. 3 days before the announced shipment date it came in a DHL envelope
I’ve only got to wear it less than a week since then and it still squeaks and smells leathery in a good way!

You are in a better position to work this out that we are as you have the jacket there and can see where it falls on you in real life.

Why not decide where you think the hem should end? (My view is should end around one inch over the belt, but many here would say at the belt.) You can then work out how much needs to go.

In the end I don't know how helpful it is for us to throw numbers at you.
Thanks for the help I’m crunching the numbers

Given you have the buttons, I'd try a hot water wash, let it drip dry for a little while and finish in the dryer or hot sun. I've done this with a few jackets and can usually get a half size shrink. The problem is usually with the liner and/or zipper line getting warped. But with the buttons, won't be so bad.

YMMV but I've done this with a couple Schotts and even some cheaper leather from Andrew Marc. In fact I totally abused the latter as it was way too big. Part of me I think was trying to ruin it so I could justify buying another jacket. I soaked it in water for 1 day, put in the sun for 2 days, gave it a full wash 3 times. At least 5 hours combined in the dryer max heat. Got the size eventually, but jacket definitely needed a solid 2 or 3 coats of coconut oil afterwards.

Or just try and sell it and start over. I've got a custom coming from 5* so I'm curious how close I get to the right size. think I screwed up a couple little things, but live and learn.

any update on this leather? thanks
Yes the leather (regular not premium goat) did get softer but it still looks pretty much the same (which is fine) , at the time it was shaun’s “experimental” wax / oil distressed. I never did any type of hot water - dryer treatment etc And I’m still happy with it but haven’t pulled out of closet in a while due to weather
