Silly kid shoes? I don't get it. [huh] I own Grensons and Crockett & Jones, and while the English shoes are nicer, the AEs aren't 'kid shoes' by comparison.

Anyway, I'm awaiting delivery on my latest pair from ebay, black Park Avenues:

I've also got Fifth Avenues in dark brown, and these Saratogas in burgundy:

Windhams:

Also a pair of Lexingtons in chestnut and Bradleys in chili.

pretty much all of my shoes are hand made for me now and they don't cost too much either i spose about $180 a pair. Most of my shoes are also for dance as well as walking so they have to be comfortable.I know a lot of dancers prefer Aris Allens though and i hear good things about Stacy Adams after you tear them appart and put a new heal and sole on them ..............Paul

I sold myself short...I also have:
Park Avenue-merlot
Lloyd-merlot

I don't care what kind of sole you put on 'em, you cannot compare Stacy Adams to AE right after calling AE kid's shoes. I certainly didn't have such a childhood. Like them or not, AE makes good shoes.

i think it depends if you are a dancer or not a pair of shoes lasts me 6 months at most even with a few sole and heel changes after that they are knackered.why would i pay hundreds of bucks for 6 months of use?if you want to just walk about in shoes well expensive is fine but if you want to walk play and dance well leather is leather and will only last so long as it has a limited life span even if you look after it well.I use shoes i know work well and look good for my needs and they don't cost crap loads of money.Everyone is entitled to thier preference of course but these things look way to heavy for sliding about on i think you would probably clog quite a lot..................Paul

True enough. But how many here are dancers :p :p
I can see why you would not want to pay AE's price. But most of us keep our AE's for many years. As for kids shoes:Last time i checked, most "kids" were wearing sneakers.I have yet to see a child wearing AE's :p
