If you google these hats you will find a wealth of information on dimensions at least for any of the Indy Jones hats. Indy hats have a dimensional brim or at least they did in a number of movies but it depends on which as they did change over the arc of the franchise

Club obi wan has them on the “accurate” list of hat makers still operating in 2021. All the photos I have seen from them look great. If you want a list of their recommended hatters just let me know.

Mine is beaver, just because I'd rather have a beaver hat. Word on the street is that a special (rabbit felt) anniversary edition will be released in June.
I'm with you on the beaver. I was checking out their website and they also offer a dark sable color too. I've been thinking about selling off my new Penman. My experience with him put a bad taste in my mouth and I'm just not happy with the hat. Was thinking of maybe getting a HJ in rabbit. I like beaver too, but the cost is more than I want to spend, and I feel like I've wasted money on an Indy hat already. Plus the OG was in rabbit.

I misunderstood Michelle when we were communicating and I thought dark sable was only available in rabbit. Turns out they also have it in beaver now. Had I known, I probably would have waited for that because I like the darker felt too.

If I were in the market now, I think I would wait to see what this anniversary model is...lots of excitement on COW. I'm very pleased with mine regardless. The Raiders hat was never even my favorite, but when it really seemed apparent that they were using the right block I couldn't resist. I did not get the turn. I don't mind a funky asymmetric brim, but somehow it just never personally appealed to me. I actually would be really interested to see the underside of the real hat to see where the back bow is.

I am having my Penman Everyman completely overhauled by Mike Miller at NW Hats. The felt on the "Indy" Everyman is quite good. IIRC, it's a South American felt with 80/20 blended Rabbit/Beaver. Frankly, that felt outshines some of the Winchester pure beaver felt I have.

Being an off the shelf "factory" hat, it never quite fit right either. So I told Mike to take it all apart and treat it like a new hat body... reblock to my head shape and size, pounce a little here and there, add a NW Hats liner and sweatband, and I picked out some sweet maroon, brownish-burgundy, ribbon for the crown ribbon. I saw that colorway on an old Dobbs Homburg once and it was fabulous.

Like Jared, I figure if I want an Indy hat I'll go with the HJ offering. I used to grab the Everyman when it was rainy outside. Now I just grab my old Stratton western that Mike refurbed for me. Heavy western weight felt, even when its pouring buckets out the Stratton handles it well. When it gets soaked I just use the opportunity to fine tune the creases!
