Was going thru Vogue's Fashion section and this photo popped up. I thought for a second it's a vintage jacket but it's not. I think. In any case, I kinda like it. Looks sturdy and it's an oversized look done right.

The arms are so long compared to the body, to me it has the proportions of a women's jacket.

The leather looks nice but I find those sleeves too long Like @Carlos840. Don't know if it's a trend as it's not the first one I see like this.

The guy wearing it is probably about 4 ft tall - possibly the only person in the world who would fit into that jacket

That's how it's supposed to fit; It's deliberately over-sized and while I'm not a fan usually, in this case it's done really well because it's not ridiculously exaggerated. The arms are long because of the drooping shoulders. I think this jacket is very well tailored & it'd look... Well, let's say better on someone bigger but that's not the point. Perfect fit isn't always desirable. It is maybe even slightly boring in its neatness.

What I wonder is who made the jacket. Could be a vintage D&G or maybe Diesel cuz I know they'd often use these kind of snaps on their jackets but since this photo has been taken on a runway, I doubt it they're wearing old stuff and there's no doubt neither D&G nor Diesel couldn't build this jacket nowadays if their collective lives depended on it. Stupid Vogue puts zero info next to their photos...

Anyway, here's an excellent example of how bad this trend can get. That's 2300 Euros down the drain if you're hoping to get more than a season of wear out of your jacket without looking like a walking joke.

I was suspecting that might be the case. The fashion world will always be more eccentric and needing to stand out anyway.

I agree with you, sometimes a perfect fit could be a bit boring. Not everybody has the perfect body and can wear tailored clothes therefore people will try to hide their self proclaimed flaws by wearing clothes that will take your eyes off them. But that doesn't mean they should wear something that looks like they bought a piece of clothing 4-5 sizes bigger or smaller.

There will always be people who like to dress up to draw attention, or when they go to certain events and that's perfectly fine but other than that I think a good balance is more desirable. But that's just my opinion, we are all different and I'm sure other's don't agree with it...and that's fine too :)

I didn't mean anything about the oversized fit, i meant general proportions of the jacket.
To me that jacket has similar proportions to what you would expect of a woman's perfecto, ie super long arms and cropped body. I think it would look that way even if it was sized "correctly".
A bit like this:

the guy seems very short, so I don't want to comment on that, to me seems like he just make do with size he can get away with and use hem length as his guide which is a correct length for his build and even modify the stars from the epaulette to his sleeve, I can see the leather is a good one, and the jacket seems well made, I can see it could work in a baggy cyberpunk kind of way, but I'm totally bamboozled by the way he dress it with... tube top/ spaghetti top and pearls...

These are precisely the kind of fits and images that made me never want a cross zip when I started collecting jackets. These "guys" both look incredibly feminine to me...the vogue guy looks like a west side story wardrobe fail and the second one might well be a lady-boy wanker prostitute. I suppose they both have nice purses though, so that's something.

Okay, so I badly edited the pic a tiny bit, narrowed the shoulders and voila, it immediately looks & fits literally like on any and all of us over here. It's a bit short but not shorter than any Cal, while roughly being cut the same way.

While I don't particularly like the rest of what he's wearing, the jacket is on point. In a smaller size, it'd look great, combined with a pair of jeans. And as for the feminine thing... @ton312, EVERYTHING we wear over here right now is currently a staple of women's fashion, which is to say, leather jacket on a retro-styled pair of jeans (currently either 50's or 90's) and boots. It's how women have been dressing for the past 5 years and it's gotten to the point of transgressing into formal women's fashion as well, as an alternative to dresses and heels, so attempting to characterize any aspect of fashion nowadays as feminine or indeed masculine is really a moot point. Younger generations will be wondering why is there a forum of grown up men, dressing up like their moms. XD

I didn't notice the pearls at first.... they remind me of my Dr Frank'n'Furter days.

Any idea what brand the jacket is? Looks a lot sturdier than most fashionwear. The liner reminds me of GoldTop, but they don't do a Perfecto-type. Sleeves look a bit like how my Johnson wears if I don't zip up the sleeves; could be it's designed for wearing as a bike jacket with shorter gloves (or patterned after similar).

I have to disagree…the Vogue image and wherever you found that other one came from…the jackets I see here (including my own cross zip) have nothing in common with the fit or build of those two. Those look like a women’s jacket being worn by (presumably?) men.
