Adam Executive Mr. Main Street.
2 5/8” brim (my new favorite width)
4 3/4” crown in front, 4 1/4” in back (as creased)
1” pleated ribbon with matching 1/2” brim binding

The sweatband is like glove leather. The brim is soft but holds its shape. I can see why it was called “Mr. Main Street;” if a man could afford only one hat, this one would fit the bill. It is an instant favorite.

@DaveProc the markings are almost identical to your Runabout. Do you know approximately what time period these hats are from? My Adam dating skills are limited.
I'll have a look. I believe the Romabout was from the late 40s to the early 50s.

I have only been able to find Mr. Main Street ads from 1950-1952, and they are pretty sparse.

A new Adam Majestic. Guessing late 40s?
I have another Majestic, earlier added to this thread, which sports a different liner logo, but in all other ways compares to this more recent buy. Did Adam use two different logos at the same time, or is this a clue to a different build date?
This is a 7 3/8 that has shrunk down to fit perfectly, but had to reflange the brim and crown to accept my long oval head, so the brim wouldn’t go wonky.
4 5/8 crown as pinched
2 9/16 brim
1 3/4 ribbon

Great colors on those, Randall. They look like good quality hats.

Thanks, Randy!
I’ve owned several different felt quality levels from this hat company produced in the 40s to the 50s.
Think I’ve read an old thread that states Adam and Champ hats were discount brands. If Majestic was Adam’s highest quality level then judging the felt of these two hats I can say that their felt, though good, didn’t match the quality of other top tier felts from other companies of the same period.
Nevertheless, because of this company’s often bold styling I am a huge Adam hat fan.

And a mug shot or two. Selfie grimace at full strength.

The crown is about 5 1/4" open, 4 1/2" as creased. The brim is 2 3/8". It weighs 127g. Despite the 7 1/8 size it fits my 7 1/4 head albeit snugly. The felt is dense yet malleable dry, with a nice soft hand. All indications say mid to late 50's.
It will get a good cleaning and steaming, then a lot of wear!

Great looking Adam, John. I never find hats in my local shops.

Great find, John. At that price you can buy them all day long. Nice heather look to the felt.

Airliner

Here is a nice thin ribbon Adam, model Airliner, color Cloud. Its a medium grey/light charcoal. Original $7.95 price tag was tucked under the liner. Thin felt, lightweight hat. The Adam logo on the sweat is very hard to read but says "Fifth Avenue Quality". I'll add measurements later.
