What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Stepped out this morning wearing an original vintage 1941 Aero Leather Clothing Co. contract 21996 A-2 flight jacket with Buzz Rickson's Original Spec Olive Drab Chino's.
I’m all about earthtones… Olive drabs, khaki and leathery browns… But you risk looking like you’re trying to cosplay Indiana Jones when you throw on a leather jacket!

A bit of mystery jacket. Bought it off Craigslist yesterday for $80 in a f2f transaction. Looks to be Guide Master by Wolf, but made for an outfit called Kennedy's according to the label. Definitely a project, busted seams galore, lining shredded, but the 1950s horsehide is stiff, gnarly and glorious. I don't know why I am fixing these jackets, will never make any money. I almost did not buy it, but the seller, a musician, told me he wore it in the 70s while drumming for pre-Blondie Debbie Harry at CBGBs. I bought the story hook, line an sinker, probably to justify buying it, lol.

These are not inexpensive. Definitely worth a fix up. And their hide almost always looks like primo stuff.

I was just in another thread recounting the Jackets I bought in 2021. Like the others in the thread it adds up to thousands of $. Then a jacket like this Reed comes along under $90 and it makes me think. Not sure what it makes me think.

A Black Suede Trucker with a smooth collar has caught my eye a couple of times, but size etc. they did not work out.

I had the opportunity to buy Levi rough out jackets through the years, but passed as they just looked cheap and usually dirty. They were very little money then.

This Reed Sportswear is like new, weighs around 4.5 pounds, fully lined and very comfortable. Has hand warmer pockets that I only discovered after putting it on! I was never a fan of handwarmers in denim truckers, but in this jacket they are perfect.

This is a Jacket that could put others in the closet.

Wow! That jacket is stunning! Leather trim is a nice touch. Fits you perfectly too. Very similar to my Iron Heart trucker, yet a fraction of the cost.

your jackets are really get broken in on the road, infused with petrol fume, radiated by sunlight, with the sound of nature and the engine, that's a perfect dream for any riding jackets ever being built rather than being worn for sitting in an airconditioned room with clickety clackety of the keyboard all day, infused with the smell of latte, radiated by blue light like the majority of them.

LOL!!! "clickety clackety"... that's funny. I did that for some years, film editing. Until, I couldn't take it anymore. My body was going to hell sitting hunched over a keyboard all day.
