“Suiting the Sound: Jewish Rodeo Tailors of Country Music,” premiering tonight at 7:00 PM CT.
Watch it free on either museum's Facebook page.
The conversation focuses on the “rhinestone cowboy” look, and how it emerged in the 1940s and 1950s out of the tailor shops of Eastern European Jewish immigrants Bernard “Rodeo Ben” Lichtenstein, Nathan Turk, and Nudie Cohn.

Been on somewhat of a Spaghetti Western vibe as of lately, here's hoping I pulled it off!

The black hat is one from the Hats by Grizz range that was altered and changed, then given a beaten, worn-in and dusty, dirty look like in the Spaghetti Western films itself. I'm sort of a blend between Clint Eastwood and Terence Hill myself.

Thought I’d show this ranch when it looks it’s best. It’s green for about three months a year. Not a bad commute as they go:

I’ve helped this ranch with their stock for almost 17 years and they still won’t grant me trespass rights to hunt it…as far as I know they won’t give anyone trespass rights. All the best hunting is private property and access is tough. The ranch is fragmented, but it’s in the 10s of thousands of acres. I only have three years left to convince them before I’m saying farewell to California.

Great image, Brent. I can see you out there among those wide open plains in one of your many wonderful Westerns.

Pretty mean of them not to extend you the curtesy you deserve due to your many years of assistance.

California liability laws and the sheer numbers of people have made access very hard to get. These big corporate ranches don’t want to take on the risks when all they get in return is appreciation. My assistance over the years was “only doing my job,” but no matter how much they like me or appreciate my assistance they just aren’t budging on access. There’s a few ranches that I’ve been trying to ingratiate myself with, but mostly it’s the same story. I’m sure there are dozens every year who ask for permission and once you tell one yes it’s hard to tell the others no. A couple ranches let me shoot coyotes and turkeys and some let me shoot pigs. I don’t hunt as much as I used to, but I still love being outdoors and it’s just a different experience from hiking when you’re holding a rifle.
