Heaviest leather jacket?

Thedi Jackets aren’t well known in Japan, as a matter of fact I didn’t know them until my friend, a Danish Englishman told me about it. They seem to make very sturdy and cautiously sewn excellent products.
Do they accept direct orders?
Yes, through their website. They are extremely well made. I would put them above AERO as far as build quality and comfort goes

My heaviest leather jacket that I've weighed has been my natel cross zip, just under 8 lbs.

Im not sure what my TRD jacket weighed, I never weighed it, but it was damn heavy, always got a remark when I handed it to anyone. Might have been heavier.

I have trench coats that weigh more, but that's substantially more material.

What’s the difference?
Depending on how something is tanned and finished different hides can be just as stiff or just as soft as one another. Theres way too many factors at play to definitively say how a specific hide is. But in general terms and typically Bison is very thick, yet very spongey and soft. Where as cow hides are stiffer and have a firmer feel to them. I also own some Moose hide boots which reminds me very much of Bison. Thick yet supple and easy to break in and its also a 5oz hide. But again if something is tanned a specific way or finished with some specific blend of oils and waxes, or treated with some sort of lacquer then that typical Bison/Moose feel can be become very heavy or very stiff.

This jacket is great though too big for me.
I wear Vanson TVJ and Vanson Stadium jacket in daily life. It’s made of competition grade cowhide which is probably 3.5 ounce. It has raglan sleeves which is easy to wear.
I’m sad not only Langlitz but even Vanson began to sell their jackets through 「exclusive authorized dealers 」in Japan . The stadium jacket is $460.00 in USA but is 120000 yen=US$934.00. ( Langlitz regular Columbia is $800.00 in USA but is 460000 yen=US$3581.00)
Vanson jackets used to be made in USA but today it’s made in Central America.

That is not true. There was a brief time that Vanson made some of their jackets in El Salvador but that experiment did not work well for them. All of their leather jackets are made in the USA.
Then, my Vanson jackets might be made in USA ?
That’s great! American made leather jackets are best in the world!

@Hh121 : there is a claimant to your "heaviest jacket" throne. Time to defend your jacket.
I know. A German craftsman makes 9 ounce steerhide jackets. I got contact with them and I’m asking them to make a 10 ounce Gallojuchten bovine leather jacket. This leather is used to make old school type leather mountain boots which is 3.5~ 4.0mm thick which is 9~10 ounce.
The first 2 photos are Kamoshika mountain boots and second 2 photos are Ando Seika Pulse 7000G. They are Japanese boots. Both were used in climbing the Everest which ended up in failure.

Man, I'd like to see this 10oz beast! I really wonder what kind of lining could stand the wear of such a behemoth. Probably a 20oz denim?

Very likely. If it says made in the USA on the tag below the collar then you know for sure.
I looked the tag and saw the words ‘made in USA’ !!!
Please don’t take me wrong. I have no idea that jacket made in El Salvador is bad. I just like American jackets that’s all.
When I entered primary school in Japan for 2 weeks I and my family moved to the US. A city called Great Neck in Long Island, New York. I entered the primary school called Arrandale School. I didn’t speak English at all but a beautiful teacher, Miss Raymond taught me English. She was a beautiful woman with jet black hair and blue eyes.
I was astonished by American winter jackets. I never had such a warm jacket in my life.

Heavy nylon. I’ll have them make a 1 inch mouton fur shearling detachable lining which can be attached by zippers.
One of my former patients who I performed replantation surgery of the right thumb told me that he will make a brown bear fur jacket. The guy is a professional hunter, a Mataji hunting in the deep mountainous area in Yamagata prefecture.
I have a vague feeling that the jacket smells bad.

You’re a doctor? What is your speciality? That’s really cool.
