Great score and perfect fit. A lot of people, including myself, prefer goatskin because it’s lightweight and durable. It also stays looking new, although the patina on the really aged ones is sweet, but unless you’re wearing it everyday for twenty plus years you won’t get to that point. I got an Aero Thunderbay in goat a few months ago that I’m still geeking over.

i'm looking forward to the patina.I should wear it a lot and enjoy it, because I like a jacket with hand pockets, it's more practical for me

It's goat alright and it's a durable, flexible and easy to wear leather. It think your fit looks very good here.

Just don't expect much patina, that's not how Goatskin ages. You'll get a little creasing, not much else for many years. This is like the opposite of Horween FQHH (Horsehide). Just wear it and enjoy it! :)

thanks, It feels like plastic, like there's a film over it, a whole new experience (although I prefer the cowhide feel)

I’ve had a pair of Dainese motorcycle goatskin gloves for over 9 years and they have the best patina you could imagine.

I have just cleaned and conditioned twice in that time and they still look fresh.

我戴一副 Dainese 摩托车山羊皮手套已有 9 年多了,它们的光泽度是你能想象到的最好的。

那段时间我刚刚清洁和调理了两次,它们看起来仍然很新鲜。
cool....I was 16 at the time and didn't know anything about leather jackets other than seeing them in movies.

GOAT ( the greatest of all time!)
Probably my fovorite leather if I could only have one. I have a couple of goathide jackets and they are not too hot.
You had a good find. A new Alexander leathers jacket must be several years old by now. Was it NOS "new old stock" somewhere ?

Does this look like horse hide to anyone?

I can't tell for sure, but the markings are very similar to what is common on the draw/back of thick horse hide...
It definitely doesn't look like FQHH, but it could be made from horse backs.
Or something completely different.

Here is my jacket showing similar grain on horse:

It first I thought horseback too, but it looks spongier. I think it's just cheap sheepskin.

Here's some non-cheap Lewis leathers sheepskin. Similar graining.

Sorry for posting this in an inappropriate thread but thx for the interesting responses. its a made in China item and the seller isn’t asking much. After further investigation I have discovered it’s not an expensive jacket. I figure the hide is probably a sheepskin. Thx.
