What are you basing this on? CXL is about the thickest wearable hide. You will certainly find nothing as thick from a Japanese tannery. If you'd like something even more substantial than CXL, I would think your only option is Lost Worlds, which is genuinely fantastic though their leather is not fast-ageing or brown core.
They sent me a sample CXL hide too. Comparing it to the Vic, its only slightly thicker. Nevertheless, I find the leather lifeless, if that makes any sense.

It's a slim-straight jacket, which is why it goes straight down and can be cinched by the belt. I was thinking on this earlier, actually; you might be pleased with a more sharply v-shaped jacket that is small at the waist, like the 50s cuts.

The slim-straight jackets (whether this or the Board Racer, which is on the same pattern) intentionally don't really taper at all. For instance, a size 40 Perfecto and size 42 Ridley have basically the same chest and waist measurements– however, the Perfecto has a chest that sharply tapers down, whereas the Ridley immediately tapers under the armpit then is straight through the trunk. The two end up looking completely different on the same person.

I think the Indian Ranger that Aero offers is one of the best versions of that offered by any maker. If you get that with Jerky or Kelpie horsehide, you'd have a look like you want, I think. Bear in mind that its taper is extremely sharp.
Hmmm, ok thank you. Not a lot of people are rocking the Indian Ranger so I dont have a lot of reference pics. Ms. Carrie suggested the Ridley, and I was going to configure it to be a clean perfecto anyways (so Indian Ranger lol)

Custom fit can be terrible if the pattern is bad and/or the company doesn't know how to fit someone (which, honestly, most don't.) For every Thedi and Johnson jacket (both of which are amazing), there's a an expensive disaster from a company with a million options but no sense of patterning.

If you like this look, just get a Lewis. They will let you customize anyway.
I think the best lesson I learned is to buy from brick and mortar stores, or at least from a place/company with a good return/refund policy

Many of them are designed to fast-age like that, yes.
Ok I will wear the DH this year, see how it looks next year and report back to everyone lol

Have you owned CXL shoes/boots before? I wouldn't call it lifeless by any stretch.

I have an Indian Ranger-configured Ridley (no longer an option) and it still doesn't look like an Indian Ranger because of the straight, rather than V, shape. It would be the same case with a Perfecto front. I love it, but the straight shape just doesn't have the same effect as a V. This is part of why my Perfecto is more grab-and-go for me than the Ridley.

But given your stated interest in a Perfecto front and brown-core leather, I would once again recommend the Schott PER70. I think it is exactly what you're after. Use their size calculator, feel free to order another size as well and return the one that does not fit. It has a rich leather with a brown core, classic Perfecto front with the 70s cut.

Aero can tapered that, though. The straight cut only applies if you buy off the rack.
