I think this one would look fantastic if you soaked it and wore it until dry. That collar could use a bit of shaping, but it would be amazing.

Its a beautiful hide! I have a custom Slimfit MC / Ridley in the same roughout - its great stuff! Tempted now to go for either the Majestic or Wayfarer in it……

There are jackets that are definitive keepers. This Bates is a keeper for me. I always thought that it is black, but on this pic it looks like a very, very dark green. Or are my eyes playing tricks on me? What do you guys think?

My 50's Swedish goatskin dispatch rider coat, which came the day after I broke my ****** arm (hence the non-wear pictures).
It's utterly amazing on me (I usually have to get "custom" in the arms since I'm built like a orangutan)

70 year old goatskin means it's finally got character to the leather and the way it buttons up from either side isn't something I've seen before.

Awesome jacket. I have one in brown. Although this is not a dispatch riders jacket. These were called brewers tailcoat and were used as workwear in breweries originally but spread to a lot of other industries early to mid 1900s. Even used as protective gear by the Swedish post office in the 1950s.

It’s black but I can see dark forest green too. It’s either there or there by power if suggestion. Either way a killer Bates!
