I just received the test jacket as well as the samples. Still working on the notes and adjustments but I just wanted to show you how the brown Italian cowhide looks. In my opinion, it looks amazing. It is gorgeous looking, the colors and texture are so natural and rich, either in daylight or interiors, and its also more supple than skinky and feels like it will mold to your body very easily. I will most likely will go with this one.

Looks beatiful, but I don't like the fact, that it is a teacore leather. I prefer them dyed through.

Looks nice. Does it feel like the same thickness or more than the other (Shinki) leather samples? How about softness/temper. Does it scrunch up as easily as the other leather options?

Has anyone got a San Francisco on the way?
That's the pattern I am getting when my queue is up. Aka Peter's Tailor Made or the San Mateo from FW. I like how he called it San Francisco, giving the original Peter's shop some recognition. Mission Street.

I am 1824 in the queue, I think 6 more months to go...

I don’t know what I am but I need to do the instructions Sam emailed me. I was sick at the time.

Anyone find their field leather jacket restrictive? it looks so good and i love the jacket so much! but find it hard to move in. recently got a eastman G1 and the mobility is insane!! is it because the leather is new and i need to break it in? any advice of anything i can do? thanks

I can't speak to your particular Field jacket or its pattern (though the firm leather and slim fit probably contribute something), but the M-422/AN-6552/G-1 is perhaps the easiest pattern to move in, of any leather jacket. I have an original WWII one that's at least a size, maybe two sizes, too small for me and I have perfect mobility even with it fully zipped up.

I had a size 42 Manhattan and a size 44 Manhattan now. His size is one smaller than say Hooch Hauler / Board Racer. So size 42 HH / BR = Greg's size 44 Manhattan. Don't know about his half belts, they seem to be larger sized.

Some Japanese jacketsI have have runs on the same sizing as Greg's Manhattan pattern. TM, Y2, FH. 55cm P2P is the most misleading number there is on Rakuten... It is either 54 or 56, flip a coin...

I see thanks for your feedbacks. mine is a 38 as i have 38 chest. but with sloping shoulders and big lats i think i have a misleading arm amplitude thats perhaps bigger or at a different angle.

Quite worried about what to do because its my favorite jacket in terms of aesthetics! only i can wear only a tshirt under and have trouble moving my arms. will the leather soften up? or am i in deep waters with this particular jacket? Any recommendations is welcome! if i save up which maker should i go with to have a classical jacket that has lots of amplitude without looking baggy? Thedi?

If the arms feels too tight then it's probably a bit on the small side. Leather has some give but it has limits.

I went through the same pain. And I am still going through the similar failures with other new purchases. My best advice for myself and other is, Sell it on and move on. And you will find one that works. Hang on to that one.

From every measurement and anecdote I have seen, that was the wrong choice.

Which jacket did you get from Field?

The torso was ok on my size 42 Manhattan, which was about 43" around the chest, if I pull I can get a 22" P2P reading because of the elastic back. But if I remember correctly, the upper sleeves were only 7" across at best. Very tight upper shoulder/arms which limits the movement. My TM and Fountainhead xzips are like this too, so I think that's where Greg got the idea from, chasing some of the that Japanese fit. If the sleeves had an extra inch in circumference in the upper shoulder area the mobility would feel totally different, like on the RC jackets I have. There are some reports that Greg's pattern didn't fit them. So cloth jacket test is probably the best way to go if you are in the queue, takes the sleeve size out of the doubt equation. He's gotten quite expensive. Better get it right the first time. Or try at least.

I did do the mock up jacket and it fit but now that I got the finished jacket I cannot layer and with only a t-shirt I’m comfortable if I don’t move. The moment I reach for something or drive it’s hard. I think I need more space in the back

Do field leathers run small? From what I’ve read there sizes correspond to the pit to pit measurement e.g. size 40 has. 20 inch chest, which is more in line with a 38?

I have only received my cotton fit jacket, but from wearing that, I would say they run small and trim in the arms. I have a 42-43" chest depending on how heavy I am at the time, and we had to size mine up to a 46 (I originally thought I needed a 44).

Does anyone know what the typical production time is to produce a jacket once your pattern has been finalized, from Start to Finish? A week?
