Tempted to copy this design, if you don't mind. Hopefully I would be able to do so via Thurston Brothers, so as to avail myself of their Fit Jacket process [having never worn a Thedi before].

Be my guest. Originally, this pattern was supposed to be leather and fabric, but it looks like Theodoros gets most orders for it in full leather. I first saw one (in full leather) on the Thurston Bros site, and that's what decided me to order one.

I ordered this style myself, with some differences in materials. I went through Thurston with a fit jacket, which I hope I made the right changes to. (fingers crossed) Mine will be washed espresso buffalo with an olive cotton drill lining. It's been almost 3 months, but I was told it could be around 5 months, which would mean it will arrive just in time for fall.

Still the single greatest leather jacket that I've ever seen on this site. Hell, I loved it so much that I ordered the exact same thing from Thurston, but it turned out to be incredibly disappointing in terms of both fit and color, and I sold it almost immediately. That said, I somehow ended up back here tonight and it has me thinking again...

Has anyone here ever ordered the same jacket twice after a frustrating first try? One major change is that I would switch from cowhide to goat this time around.

I ordered this particular design twice because I loved the first one and I wanted another. I added an inch back length because I thought that would allow me to wear it over a sweater, which it does but I'm not 100% happy with how it looks. This jacket looks better at trucker length.

I agree in regards to length. Is the top version canvas and cowhide?

I don’t think you needed the extra length to squirrel away a sweater. I see what you are saying but the longer one still looks awesome bud.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...this is the greatest leather jacket that I've ever seen. Period. And to top it off, I've never even seen this Thedi style work on anyone else (including myself, because I bought a custom one through Thurston and then sold it after it didn't look or fit right), but damn...you really nailed it with this one. Fit, color, everything. And that "everything" brings me to my point, which is a bit off topic. What kind of jeans are these? They look like they sit properly on you, which is hard for me to find. Everything seems so low-rise nowadays, and I'm looking for something that I can tuck a t-shirt into and wear with an old-fashioned brass belt buckle. I'm not after anything expensive or fancy or selvedge or whatever, just a solid, durable choice that looks classic. Any information or ideas? Thanks, everyone.

Thank you for the praise, and sorry for your disappointing experience . I think you met Theodoros recently and hope things will turn out according to your wishes this time. To answer your question, I usually wear iterations of the 511 Levi's. It's a pattern that works for me and that's easy to find.

You live and learn, and I have no doubt that Theodoros will provide me with a great jacket this time around. And I've actually never owned a pair of Levi's jeans. I started buying mine from American Eagle back in high school, and just always stuck with that brand. Definitely going to try on some 511's this week, though. Also, it would be amazing to see any current pics of your jacket if you have them. Either way, thanks for your help!

Since you don't like a low waist, you probably won't be happy with a 511. It's somewhere between low and normal and slim fit. A 501 or Gstar 3301 will probably be more suitable for you.
On the Levi's website you can see which number has which fit.

Can't take any proper pics presently because I'm wearing a protective splint on the left wrist due to an accident. This one's from last spring.

Don't ever sell this jacket. In fact, as someone who sells graves and funeral insurance for a living, take my advice and have it written into your will that you want to be buried in it.

Okay, great. Thanks for the advice. The ultimate goal is to find a style similar to what Hal Needham and other Hollywood tough guys from the 70's used to wear (without the bell-bottom portion, that is). The last pic is Daniel Craig from the movie "Munich", who I think also did a great job rocking the look. Seriously, just imagine how cool these old timers would have looked in a jacket like Mandarin's.
