I sold the 66 Harley last year and the 74 Norton a couple of years ago. I am currently sans anything cool to post.

This is a picture of my 911 when it came into the Porsche dealership 2 1/2 weeks ago. It didn't last long as I got it a few days after this picture was taken. It is a kick in the **** to drive. Reminds me of my 1958 MG-A, except with 10 x the power. I have to be careful to not let it get out from under me.

I sold my Police Road King but still have my Panamera as a daily driver. The 911 is a toy.

Verrry nice and finally a complete one! When digging for Swingbikes around 15 years ago I found out that they were not only sold in the US but some were sold in the Netherlands as well - most of them in green

Nice! I didn’t mean to make light of anyone who owns a vehicle/bike, they can be beautiful machines. I love the mechanical aspect.

In my quiet little “village” though, the best way to get around is with public transit and owning a vehicle in the city is a burden so most of us don’t even bother with one. Everyone commutes to work on public transit and everything is within a 15 min walk away. Which is great. I couldn’t handle hour long commutes in traffic or gas or insurance or maintenance. It helps that the city is beautiful and walking is healthy.

MG cars had their roots in a 1920's sales promotion sideline of Morris Garages, a retail sales and service centre in Oxford belonging to William Morris. The business's manager, Cecil Kimber, modified standard production Morris Oxfords and added MG Super Sports to the plate at the nose of the car.

This is that car. Now known as: "Old Number One."

A separate M.G. Car Company Limited was incorporated in July 1930. It remained Morris's personal property until 1 July 1935, when he sold it to his holding company, Morris Motors Limited.
MG sales soared with the coming of the "T" series of sports cars. Known as MG TA, followed by TB, TC & TD.
Watch a WW2 movie and you are almost assured of seeing a Spitfire pilot driving a T series MG.


MG underwent many changes in ownership over the years following the end of the war. The MG marque continued to be used by the successors. Most of it's models were just re-badged cars from Leyland Motors, but one car gave the MG name much provenance, that being the MGB:



At the start of 2000, the MG Rover Group, entered receivership. (Brit speak for going bust.) The MG marque along with other assets of MG Rover were purchased by Nanjing Automobile Group (which merged into SAIC Motor in 2007.)

The Chinese, trading on the success of the MGB came up with the MG Cybester.
The MG Cyberster is a battery electric roadster produced by SAIC Motor under the MG marque. The vehicle was previewed as a concept car.


What do you think? A worthy successor? Will all electric deter the die hard sports car lovers?

The real shock though for British drivers is the MG Extender. It's the first ever MG pickup it's on sale in Thailand and comes very well equipped. The Extender is another MG that's been re-badged.
It's based on the LDV Maxus T70.



The truck certainly gave our motoring press palpitations, but I like it.
That said and I know that this is an outerwear thread, indulge me.
My own MG harks back to the days of William Morris, it's staying with me.

Thank you,,its taken 3years and far too much money to get it to where it is today. Basically everything replaced. but i enjoy just looking at it ,many happy memories from when it was new.48 years ago.
