Hello: I have a CHP jacket from the early 1990s that I will soon post and am trying to determine the maker, as there is no label. Are there any elder statesman here familiar with a custom leather shop -- believed to have been in Old Sacramento -- that sold CHP jackets back then? Thanks much, Bradley

FYI _ it looks nearly exactly like my Branded CHP - very thick, grainy leather, similar zipper pulls, and the missing zip-out liner and snaps for a fur collar. See if the main zipper has "Branded" or "Orchard M/C" on it's brass pull.

There is a leather shop in Old Sac, but as long as I can remember they pretty much just sold cheap stuff made in Pakistan and China.
It's certainly possible that earlier in the 90's they sold better quality goods and even customized...etc.
My brother got a jacket from there about 20 years ago, it was this very ugly black generic bomber style made of patched together scraps of suede, I think it had only cost maybe $50 at that time.

I think they're called main street leathers or Old Sac leathers or something like that, just an insignificant little shop that sells leather goods.
I quit going to Old Sac about 10 years ago so I don't even know if they're still open.
