Hi there, wondering if you could share your thoughts on wearing the 626 in warmer weather ? Is it noticeably lighter than your other jackets ? Thanks kindly :)

Hi! Thanks for your question.
Yes, the 626 is noticeably lighter compared to the 118, 519, 141 or the 689H.
The leather is thinner, the lining is lighter, and overall it's much more comfortable for spring and mild summer evenings.
It still offers some warmth, but it's definitely less bulky and heavy – a good choice for temperatures around 60–75°F (15–24°C).
Of course, on really hot days almost any leather jacket will feel too warm.
But for moderate weather, the 626 is a great option. Also the 530 is great in summer too!

Hope this helps – let me know if you need any more info!

Which Schott has the strongest taper? I'm looking for one with a normal / wide shoulder, but that tapers to the waist quite aggresively

None of them has that. Maybe some of the G-1s, but I don't think those are what you are asking about. The 626 has virtually no taper, but that doesn't make the others extremely V-shaped by comparison.

Even in the 50s, Perfectos had a roughly 4 inch drop. They weren't that Durable type sharp V shape.

The 613S/SH has about a 4.5" taper that is a straight V but still that's not as dramatic as some others.

In the sense of a large top section and sharp taper? Look at the Indian Ranger from Aero.
All of my Aeros xzip are to some extent more tapered than my 613SH, the Vanson C2 as well.
All of them are also shorter with the Hooch Hauler being the closer in length.

The Ridley has six inches of taper but this is a great example of measurements being deceiving because it is pretty much a slim-straight cut; in practice it wears as less V-shaped and tapered than my Schotts with a 4 inch taper.

My most tapered crosszip is an Eastman (ELMC) Roadstar. Comparing in size 44, the chest and shoulders are more roomy than my Schott 613sh. As far as the waist goes, I belt my Schott to the fourth or fifth (final) belt hole to tighten it up. The Roadstar barely fits my waist.

118 Has a 5 inch drop from chest to waist. With slighly larger shoulders. The Japanese 613us has a 6 inch drop.

Incorrect. The 118 has the same pattern as the 618 and 613, simply marked a size smaller, so a 118 in 40 is a 618/613 in 42.

The extra taper might be to aco**** for the added length. So the body does fit the same as a 618 but the extension of the length makes the resulting bottom hem less. But do note the slightly bigger shoulders.

These measurements bear no resemblance to the detail pics I received from a seller of a 118j.The size 42 is showing p2p of 22in and a back length of 22..5in.?

That measurement chart is from the current production line.

118J was an alternate label for 118 jackets for the French market until the 1980s. Perfectos at that time were sized at 2" chest ease. My 42 from the late 50s is the same way.
