Even if I were positive it really was one of the hats used in the series, I wouldn't spend more money on that hat than what others of the same make and model would cost.
I find it surprising myself, but if I knew for sure a hat was worn by Genghis Khan himself, it wouldn't interest me simply because he wore it.

When son Dusty Roger’s closed the Roy Roger’s museum in Branson, MO & held his auction a buyer from IA who owned 3-4 small radio stations & specialized in broadcasting old Western serials bought the taxidermied horse, Trigger, the dog, & the Jeep. Among other things, I understand they are on display in the corporate office for his radio station network.

Depending on the provenance of the Lone Ranger hat the buyer could be a museum or business owner that can invest in his business & depreciate/write off the purchase for his business.

Item of interest — Harry S. Truman’s Stetson.

Description​


An incredible find. Harry S Truman original Stetson hat with leather case initialed in gold.

A natural colored 3X Stetson brand hat, size approximately 7 3/8, with a 3 inch brim and

4.5 inch crown. Complete with its original Stetson travel box, monogrammed on the front, H.S.T.

Showing nice wear and originality. From the Ray Bentley Collection.

They only had the one interior shot on the auction. I asked for others…

The sweat is splitting and this hat appears to be from the last decade of his life (1884 - 1972).

Being a 3X I guess he worn out the 100 that originally came in this case.

But...but...there's a period after the "S.". Must be counterfeit, I tells ya!
