I like that one. There's a difference between stylized and cutting corners.

There are a lot of multi piece that look like booti cheeks as well. It depends on how well the pattern fits your body.

Here is a 1-piece back jacket that appears to work rather well. I believe @ton312 may have one.
The Vanson Mercury: And it's $579 new from Vanson

Reviving this thread to ask — has anyone had experience with asking aero to remove the yoke from a pattern and if it causes any issue with structure or drape? Thank you

No direct experience, but the best policy as ever with Aero is to ask them directly. Bear in mind, though, that it's their name on everything that goes out the door representing them in the world, so they will say no to anything that compromises the pattern or which doesn't work for the Aero aesthetic.

TBH, after all these years, there are still minor tweaks I like in some models (I much prefer the Bootlegger with button cuffs, for instance), but as a general rule I tend to find a jacket turns out much better if I find one that I like as standard rather than trying to change a design somebody much more qualified than me has designed and patterned.

If you just have the front panels attached to one piece back panel, it’s one hell of a job to make it drapes, both maker and wearer.
Here's mine zipped and unzipped, one I posted recently of a Taubers jacket I received. Back panel attached directly to the front panel. It creases in the kidney area but other than that, I'd say this is a better example of this difficult construction choice.
