My Grandfather in the 70s when I was a kid had a beautiful xj6 Jaguar, cream with red Italian leather interior

Italian red leather you say, I bet it had a walnut dashboard too. It's the kind of car that tells the world that you have arrived. You would expect to see someone in collar and tie stepping out from it.

There again when the hat is bespoke and the shirt hand made, it is well in keeping with such a car.

The detail in the shirt would do justice to the sort of detail that Jaguar once gave their cars.
Look at the shirt, see how the pattern lines up down the centre. Look again, there's a ****** pocket but you have to look hard to see it. Now look, close-up at the buttons, you can see one at the bottom of the shirt, they are all fabric covered.
Most shirts, when worn open neck, is simply a case of unfastening the top button and opening the neck of the shirt. This shirt has no top button instead, the shirt opening has been designed lapel style, making the appearance so much more aesthetically appealing.

There's a thread, not been seen since 2012, titled: "The Mother Road." It refers to Route 66. Almost 80 years ago, Nat King Cole recorded Bobby Troup's song: "Get Your Kicks on Route 66."
Both the song and the highway became known across the pond when Chuck Berry recorded it. A few years later the Rolling Stones recorded it and many others have too.

Back on that Mother Road thread ( https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/the-mother-road.68146/ ) skyvue wrote: "I drove the entire length of Route 66 in 1992, as part of a four-month, 48-state, 22,000-mile road trip. I have a Rt. 66 tattoo, too."
Tina and I have visited Uncle Sam many times, but somehow Route 66 eluded us. It might not quite qualify as an Aloha shirt, but in honour of that famous highway, Tina made this shirt for me.

Paisley aloha shirt 001.JPG Paisley aloha shirt 002.JPG shirt & trousers 006.JPG
Paisley is not an Aloha design, of course, but it does make for an Hawaiian style, with impact too.
The paisley pattern, a distinctive teardrop or curved design, originated in ancient Persia and India, with roots dating back as far as the 11th century. It's often associated with the "boteh" or "buta" motif, which can mean "flower bud" or "spray of leaves" in Persian.
While its symbolic origins are debated, it's often linked to the Zoroastrian symbol of life and fertility, represented by a cypress tree and floral spray. The pattern became widely known in the West through the import of Kashmiri shawls during the 18th and 19th centuries, and the town of Paisley, Scotland, later became a major centre for its production.

Lovely shirt! My vintage shirts have small pocket that blends in but Coco buttons, my vintage 70s sun surf is a Oxford shirt with button collar. And yes Grandads Jag had a walnut dash :)

Any photos of that shirt? Today's shirt, Tina made, to wear with the khaki baggies that she had previously made. They do compliment one another, I told her. "That was the idea," she replied, knowingly.

Halloween is just around the corner, did I ever tell you of Tina's amazing perception? So many times she seemed to know what was coming. Years ago I started calling her a witch, she played up to it: "How did you know?" She asked with that enigmatic grin of her's. We often banter when once again her perception has spooked me.
Tina's sister is the mother of twin daughters, their birthday is close to Halloween. One recent year, when writing a message in one of the twin's birthday card I said to Tina: "Lucky me that you don't have a twin:" Her raised eyebrows gave that questioning look. "Why?" she finally said. I thought that she would never take the bait.

"The problem with twin witches?" I teased, "You would never know which witch is which!" "Muggle!" she replied.

"Here you go, Muggle," Tina said, "your Halloween shirt, to help you tell, which witch is which" I'm impressed, commenting how quickly she must have made it, I joked: "Did you work through the night?" "Don't you know?" She replied: "Witches see better in the dark!"
By the way, the lady is currently working on a fabulous project, it's a shirt, that's all I know, photos have been forbidden.

Amazing Charlie, I will resist the corny banana jokes. Look in on Friday, it's the 31st and I have just the shirt.

Here's a tease, the full shirt will be worn on Halloween.

Here you go Charlie, my shirt for Halloween, it would be perfect to wear to Duke's Waikiki beach bar.
Amazon came up with the perfect hat, but let me tell you, no way am I going on the internet wearing it.
Retired now, but previously I was head honcho of quite a large workforce. My photo would be on every one of their phones, and a good few more besides. Want to see the hat? Go on then:

Haha, another fantastic shirt, but I'll skip the hat!

I hope you and the Mrs. are doing well. Say hello for me.

And I still say she could earn a fortune making custom Hawaiian shirts :)

That is some shirt! The burgundy colors & a real Hawaiian design!!! The hat goes perfect.

Red leather in a Jag! Grampa has/had style!

I like the Hawaiian Mu Mu's for comfort... They are not your ordinary Grandma Dress.
