No issues with this jacket. I taken close up pictures of the usual wear wear areas like the collar, cuffs, helm, shoulders. This is a clean together jacket
Blatt was a small company that made well built horsehide jacket post WW11 Blatt jackets are very rare to find and to find a large size in mint vintage condition all most unheard. 23” chest pit to pit which equate to vintage size 46.

I find this Blatt jacket to be higher build standards that a vast majority of the usual vintage leather jacket I have handled some examples Buco, Trojan, Californian, Beck, Harley Davidson’s Cycle Champ, Sears Hercules, Montgomery’s California. Pennry’s Sportclad, Schott’s Perfecto and on pare with the best of Taubers, Star Glove and Leather Togs.

When I was a collector of vintage leather jackets specializing in motorcycle jackets I only sought and purchased jackets in excellent condition and large sizes that I could wear. I do not wear these jackets very often any longer. I lost 50 lbs. and live in an area with a short jacket season. I am retired and spend most days working my ranch. I do not get out much to wear the jackets. I thinning out my jacket collection to pursue my current hobby / obsession custom boots.

I will be posting this Blatt on eBay. Seems there is no interest here for a 40s Possible early 50s horsehide motorcycle jacket in a condition that it could be worn needing nothing and no concern about worn leather or stitching.

Did you save the brass sleeve zipper sliders? Those are original to the jacket

No I replace the pulls because the original pull springs that lock the slide in place were worn

I only replaced the sleeve zipper pulls because the springs that lock the sliders in place were worn so the sleeves did not stay full zipped closed. I took a look through my zipper pull collection and did not find them. They were Ideal pulls

These old school sliders didn't have springs, they simply work by sticking a pin in the track when the pull is put down in its natural position.

My bad. It bothered me the sleeve slider would not stick with the zipper fully closed. And thinking back I changed the slide and pull as a unit. I keep a selection of vintage sliders/pulls and chose a pair I thought blended in with the finish on the rest of the zippers that work fine
