I might’ve misunderstood your post. I’m heading to NYC tomorrow with the fam. My daughter is a big theatre nerd so we are going to a couple of Broadway shows adobe doing the usual touristy stuff

I just returned from NYC. “Habitat” was directed at the gas-station surrounding. Probably a misguided notion.

Enjoy your stay! I liked the city much more than during my last visits. Somehow the overall vibe was quite positive. I didn’t expect that at all.

If you’re near Broadway, Bill’s Bar and Burger on W51th (corner 5th ave) is always an affordable and cheerful place. Nothing special, but one of my “go to’s”.

I wore this 60's Woolrich 23001 all day today.

I could be mistaken, but I swear this one has a much pointier collar than my 1st 23001.
If you like extra pointy collars ( I don't particularly care for them much) the Woolrich 23001 is for you.

I have been "horsehide curious" for a couple of years now especially in the 618 but also the 613 sh which is why I took special interest in your comparison
I'm always intrigued by how the different skins form to the body, age, and function over time. All the differences and the similarities

Absolutely! I love horsehide, but once in a while, I try something else and remind myself that other mothers raise beautiful daughters as well.

Steerhide is a more recent discovery of mine, since I got that great Y2/The Shop trucker jacket.
It doesn’t have that signature “forming” to the body, but it does have a nice heft and drapes very nicely from the get go.
As I said in the other thread, had the 618HH not worked out for whatever reason, I’d probably have left with a Steerhide Perfecto.
