My last post/thread for 2025! Have a happy new year everyone!

Got this one used from JP for a real nice price.
I'll skip my usual long write up this time and just throw in some ****** point thoughts and pictures.
You can find more info about it here for example : https://item.rakuten.co.jp/lua-shop/ls-15-brown/
- Lighter / midweight 1.2mm very soft and pliable extra grainy horsehide.
- Brushed cotton moleskin type body lining and nylon in the sleeves. Love this lining. Even has a middle pleat for mobility.
- 2 patch pockets, 1 chest smaller patch pocket, one internal pocket (thank god), the patch pockets have reinforcement triangles.
- Somehow the back doesn't drape too well / straight down, kind pops out in the middle.
- Tight sleeves (elbows)! Typical of JP jackets. Fine with a t-shirt but quickly starts getting restricting with anything else.
- A bit tighter in the chest and shoulders than I would like, but good fit overall in the body for a t-shirt. The sleeve length could also be a touch longer for my taste, but the functional shoulder gussets (unusual for this kind of style!) help with that. Overall it's more or less how I'd like a shacket (leather shirt) to fit.
- This will be my warm weather jacket due to the measurements working better for a t-shirt only and buttons keeping me more cool than a zipper. Looks better with some cargo pants or chinos or wool pants than with jeans in my opinion.
- Overall pretty happy with it, it's a keeper for now! It's not ideal as far a car coats go, even Y'2 has some other ones that I'd like better, but this was too good of a deal to pass up.

Cheers!

This is the main inspiration and why I wanted a car coat for a long time - that one fit pic of Whitefeather mfg car coat!

Also shout out to @Mandarin who also has one of these:
Mine fits a bit tighter than his it seems, I'd love to try a 38!

I don’t love this style…But very nice fit, and the Leather seems pretty good!

To me is only a bit long (but I’m not familiar with that style), and i prefer longer sleaves (but this is my personal taste, on you fits very well).

EDIT: I was already forgetting…happy New Year!!!

I didn't care for this type of jacket and when I began looking at the pictures you provided I was like meh but then I got to the fit pics and you completely changed my mind. Well done. The jacket looks great on you.

Fully buttoned up it has a kind of cavalery coat / civil war coat vibe from the front to me. This length would be an absolute no-go for me on a zipped jacket, but works great on a button up, especially with the side cut outs.

Man, I've always wanted to buy a HH jacket, but reseller usually only have sizes 34-36, which makes me hesitant. On the other hand, I don't want to go for big size because I'm worried it will be too long. Could you tell me your body measurements, how it feels when wearing it, whether it would fit someone who is 5'8" 165lbs, chest 20', shoulder 17' with bulky build

With those body stats you'd need at least a 38 but more likely a 40 in this model. I'm 5'8" 128lbs, 36" chest circumference and this 36 is a bit tighter in the chest and shoulders than I'd like. Would love to try a 38.

Sometimes I don't understand why Japanese brands make clothes so small, even though I'm an Asian guy myself. The products I find at flea markets are usually running in small sizes lol

It seems like JP brands/makers size as per the chest size of the garment, while western brands/makers size as per the chest size of the person wearing it. Thus why you usually have to go up one size with JP stuff.

Obviously, this is a generalization and there'll be exceptions across the board.

It's why a lot I see on Buyee Japan always post measurements which is very helpful

I've actually found measurements in Buyee were either truly awful or the size tag extremely wrong, lol. As in listing 18" chest for a 42.

I currently have in my Buyee warehouse a gamble on the measurements being wrong haha. I will probably ship it in a few weeks.
