613SH my initial thoughts after wearing for a few hours: (and pics)

Firstly it is a much deeper fuller black leather this horsehide compared to Schott steerhide and definitely compared to the naked cowhide

Second, despite how I thought it would feel, it is somehow still surprising in it's immediate comfort and form fit except for maybe the torso which I'm expecting to lay down flatter with wear

Next, compared to steerhide it feels what shall I call it, less spongy? In any case a different feel from anything I'm used to, it's it's own thing for sure. Somehow it feels more pliable and broken in yet stiffer at the same time, some of this may be the choices of hides used as there is a lot of grain on this already which I absolutely love

Finally I'm glad I sized a bit up to the 44 instead of the 42 that I've been wearing in this brand of jacket lately. The slimmer cut and no arm footballs made that a good choice in the end.
(I also really like the slight increase in length compared to the regular 613 especially in this cold weather.)

I'll also add that having worn it for just the past few hours I already got a couple of compliments while out and about this evening.
I think this is going to become a favorite for me

Perforated Vanson Comet today.
Motorcycle run coastal north.
You have to pick the days weather wise correctly for this leather option here.
Forecast today was 25C on the coast in a strong sou westerly seabreeze.
For us this route is mostly 80Km/H (50mph) and 110 Km/H.
At the lights even a perforated leather jacket can be unbearable.
On the move 25-30C it's perfect, not too cool.

Glad you like it!

Schott´s horsehide is really one great deal for the money! Looks like a very good fit, and I don´t think you could have sized down. The 613SH always feels a bit more restrictive than the "classic" cuts of the same size.

Cheers!
Your coat reminds me of the Great Pyrenees that patrols the sheep farm down the road from my residence. I do hope no animals were sacrificed in the creation of this garment.

AL's Leather straight zip CHP-style police jacket in a size 44. A snug but not uncomfortable tailored fit for my decidedly un-tailored physique. I have ordered a plain NJ SP duty belt to finish it off. Also dug out a Schott one star model 115 (?)...not sure if that model # is correct as the tag is partially obscured by the pocket stitching. I believe this is basically the same style that Schott used to produce for Becks. Anyways, have a blessed day!
