In the usa Franklin and poe are now carrying the innovator and the hugging the curve. I want both.

I love my Innovator and have been going back and forth between the Classic 1930s and the Hugging the Curve… all fantastic jackets IMO

I really enjoy wearing my Hugging the Curve. There are 2 things I should mention though. The back length feels sort of short and I am not a tall guy. I usually don’t tuck in my shirt so certain shirts look better with the jacket than others. Perfect front length IMO. The other thing is the lining is beautiful but it is a bit scratchy when I am wearing a t-shirt. It is fine when I am wearing a thicker denim or flannel shirt.

Mine was an off the rack model. If I were to have customized it maybe I would have asked for an inch longer back length and possibly shoulder gussets. This is me knit picking though. I really do love the jacket.

But recently I decided to go with a custom jacket maker so I can get the perfect fit and all the details just how I want them.

Personally, I really like the Unus Rider. It’s very versatile — works just as well for casual wear as it does for a smart-casual or office setting.

Curious, who did you end up going with?

Hey sorry. Somehow I missed this post. I’m torn because I love DH and Matsuda has been wonderful to work with, but at the moment I’m planning to have Regius make me a jacket. I can’t find anywhere convenient I can try on the (DH) jackets I’m considering and Regius (who makes gorgeous jackets) sends a fit jacket before making the final jacket. Plus, I can pick the specific details and leather I want.

Was considering it in Olive but chickened out as photos on the web of their olive look more muddy brown to me than it does green. And since it's tea core was worried that any green in there would fade out and I'd end up with a medium-lightish brown jacket, which isn't what I'm after. Anyway, I have one of their Bounty Hunters, so this 1930's will be my 2nd from them

With tea core it definitely looks better on a black jacket, that brown peeking through, reminds me of the old days of film cams, brass appearing out of the black

I've been interested in Double Helix for a while now,
the price-quality ratio seems excellent.

I'm looking for a deep black leather, the blackest possible, like Shinky or Chromexcel.

Since Chromexcel is very stiff, I'm looking for something more comfortable to wear.

What do you think?

anyone have thoughts on their oiled wax black VS their teacore black? I went with teacore for my order because my Bounty Hunter is teacore and it's very nice. But I can't help but wonder if the oiled wax is even nicer. They charge an upcharge for the oiled wax of 11,000 yen

I asked them about it and their black core leather is less shiny than the tea core leather

That's something that worries me a bit.

I have had my Hugging the Curve for about 5 months and there is some tea core showing on both of the cuffs. Nowhere else on the jacket yet for me.
