I am curious, didn't they measure you to determine your head shape when you placed the order?

It's totally my fault. I was naive and going by the shape of another hat that I have since learned is more of a long oval.
I am surprised a custom hat maker would not insist on taking his own measurement. That way he is assured of avoiding this . How much out are they? If it is just a few millimetres you can alter the shape slightly without distorting the brim etc. Take a measurement, front to back of the good fitting hat, front to back. Then compare that measure to your customs that are too tight. Then you will know the extent of the required stretch. All you need is a two way hat jack. I am stretching one of my own hats right now.
