Thrifted with no zipper. No tear, not even missing, it was simply placed in the upper pocket. , just. Keeps things simple! But if someone knows if this is an easy repair, I’d love to know more.

That's the Zipper Pull, and lucky/nice to have it.

First thing is to examine the bottom of the zipper (both sides) since that's where it most likely detached. Post a pic making sure to show the condition of the tape/fabric at the bottom of the zipper--both sides.

If the tape/fabric is too worn/shredded, it's time to have a Pro replace the zipper.

If the tape/fabric is unworn or only slightly worn, watch some YouTube vids on "zipper repair", and buy a kit of the various metal items needed. The vids should also show the simple hand tools needed, and some kits may include them. Strongly suggest you practice on a ratty garment first. Practice makes perfect.
