I have three size 42 A-2s, a Flight Suits horsehide, an Avirex cowhide and a US Authentic horsehide and the USA is the roomiest of the three. It feels one size to big while the others are both very snug.

US Authentic horsehide is heavier and thicker than goatskin.

I originally wanted to just trade it. I'd like to get around 300.00 for it so I could use that toward another Horsehide A-2 in a smaller size.

The US Authentic is still for sale or trade. I lost another 9 pounds so it's even bigger on me then before.

Horsehide just seems to look and feel the best to me. I do like the cowhide also because it's very similar to horse with a fine grain texture and it seems to crease and bend much like horse. I do have a Cooper goatskin A-2 and it has a slightly different look due to the grainier texture. I...

Nice color and texture. The size, shape and spacing of the pockets is pretty good too. I've always wondered why so many of the lower priced A-2 makers don't try to make the pockets look more accurate. It doesn't seem like it would cost a lot and it makes the jacket look much better.

Could you give us the measurements across the shoulders, down the back and down the sleeves?

Since both GB and BK "house" A-2s have the same horsehide and now cost almost the same I'm thinking a new GB horsehide A-2 would be a safer bet since GB will exchange or alter the jacket if necessary and mailing is a whole lot cheaper and faster to El Cajon than to Europe. Every GB or...

Why would this be called Mark 31 Horsehide? Isn't the Gibson Barnes Mark 31 goatskin? Also how is a BK "house" A-2 different than a GB horsehide A-2?

Both Rod Taylor and Hugh Marlowe wear G-1 jackets when they rocket into the future in the movie World Without End. A third crew member wears an A-2. All in color and cinemascope.

I remember a movie where the main character wears an A-2 for the entire film. He never takes it off. George Raft wears one for about half of a film. I always wondered why characters in films about the navy seem to wear A-2s a lot. Is it just bad research?
