I have three size 42 A-2s, a Flight Suits horsehide, an Avirex cowhide and a US Authentic horsehide and the USA is the roomiest of the three.
It feels one size to big while the others are both very snug.
Horsehide just seems to look and feel the best to me. I do like the cowhide also because it's very similar to horse with a fine
grain texture and it seems to crease and bend much like horse. I do have a Cooper goatskin A-2 and it has a slightly different
look due to the grainier texture. I...
I recently got a size 42 Avirex Right Stuff A-2 in seal brown cowhide. It really looks very close to the Flight Suits horsehide
but is slightly darker and is about the same thickness and flexibility. It fits about like the Flight Suits so now I have two trim fit A-2 jackets and two roomier...
Nice color and texture. The size, shape and spacing of the pockets is pretty good too.
I've always wondered why so many of the lower priced A-2 makers don't try to
make the pockets look more accurate. It doesn't seem like it would cost a lot
and it makes the jacket look much better.
Since both GB and BK "house" A-2s have the same horsehide and now cost almost the same I'm thinking a new GB horsehide A-2 would
be a safer bet since GB will exchange or alter the jacket if necessary and mailing is a whole lot cheaper and faster to El Cajon than to Europe.
Every GB or...
Here's an outdoor picture of the US Authentic.
If anyone has a horsehide A-2 thats a size to small and could use a size 42 it's a pretty nice one.

I have a size 42 US Authentic russet horsehide A-2 that is a little to big for me and I am
curious if anyone would be interested in a trade for a slightly smaller horsehide A-2.
It measures 20.5 inches across the shoulders and 23.5 inches across the chest and the
sleeves are about 26.5...
Has anyone ever seen an Alpha horsehide A-2?
There seem to be very few pictures of Alpha A-2s and they don't give much of an idea of the color or texture of the jackets. I wish
more people who have the less expensive jackets would post pictures of them particularly in outdoor lighting which...
Both Rod Taylor and Hugh Marlowe wear G-1 jackets when they rocket into the future in the movie World Without End.
A third crew member wears an A-2. All in color and cinemascope.
I remember a movie where the main character wears an A-2 for the entire film. He never takes it off.
George Raft wears one for about half of a film. I always wondered why characters in films about the navy
seem to wear A-2s a lot. Is it just bad research?
