If your hair keeps a curl for a week(!) I really wouldn't risk another perm, home or pro. An air dried perm never looks like a pincurl set, it's just the base for a set to hold longer.

You could also wear a hair net first and a snood over that.

I'm very late to this request, but you might want to check out this tutorial by Lisa Freemont Street. Of course if you have a very different length, cut or hair structure you can only get so close, even with the original set.

I use Lottabody straight from the bottle on my baby fine hair. I apply three or four small dollops to pretty wet hair, concentrating on the ends and bang area. Then comb though and set. I went with the method that causes the least fuss and since it works I don't mess with it.
