    Customized Akubra Stylemaster

I recently bought an Akubra Stylemaster and after seeing a few other Akubras at JJ Hat Center I realized the Stylemaster wasn't exactly what I wanted. I wanted something closer to a traditional "outback" style hat with the down turned front and back and stiffer brim. I'd even really like a...

Is it possible for an iron to be to hat and able to damage a felt hat? I want to iron the brim of my Akubra but am afraid of damaging it.

    Akubra Overload

I had JJ Hat Center in NYC iron/reflange(sp?) my Stylemaster as I didn't like the snap brim and they didn't have anything in stock in my size that I could exchange it with. The hat came out pretty well, not perfect, but still nice. I told them to model the banjo paterson brim and this is what...

    Akubra: Stylemaster v. Cattleman

I got my hat back today. Came out well but not exactly what I was hoping for. I'm going to order the Cooper Pedy sometime soon which is almost exactly what I want. Here are some pictures of the Stylemaster with new brim style. They made the front and back dip down and the sides straight to the...

    Akubra Overload

Are there any Australian websites that I can order a hat from as the price is much lower? I'm looking for the Akubra Lightening Ridge but Everythingaustralian and hatsdirect do not have this hat. Anywhere else I could look?

    Akubra: Stylemaster v. Cattleman

I just went to JJ Hat Center. They didn't have anything in my size, unfortunately. However, I was able to try on the Banjo Paterson, Snowy River, and Lightening Ridge all one size bigger than I would typically wear (before the foam inserts). I really loved everything about the Lightening Ridge...

    Akubra: Stylemaster v. Cattleman

Would be happy to have the binding cut off if necessary. I haven't worn the hat outside yet so maybe I'll just return it and get a Cattleman (or similar) and have them trim the brim a little.

    Akubra: Stylemaster v. Cattleman

That does not work. When I turn it down in both the front and back the sides also turn down and it looks like a bowl.

I have an Akubra Stylemaster which has a "snap brim". I realize I'm looking for what Akubra calls a "dipping brim" like on the Cattleman. They don't make a hat with a dipping brim thats under 3". Is there anyway a notable Hat store like JJ Hat Center would be able to create a dipping brim on my...

    Akubra: Stylemaster v. Cattleman

Is there anyway for a hat maker (my local store being JJ Hat Center in NYC) to create what Akubra calls a "dipping brim" like what is seen on the Cattleman and Tablelands on my Stylemaster? After a lot of research I realize that I want a dipping brim just something closer to 2.5-2.75 inches...

    Akubra Overload

Can anyone post some pics of themselves wearing their Cattleman? I'm wondering if its going to be too cowboy for me or not. I'm thinking it might be a good hat to compliment my stylemaster for when I'm not in the city and when I'm in the sun being active (beach/water sports mostly).

    Akubra: Stylemaster v. Cattleman

Thank you all for the suggestions. The following are some inspiration. I know these are not Akubras and they are also quite a bit worn in but with these in mind what do any of your opinions change? Is there anyway of achieving this type of look with my Stylemaster?

    Akubra: Stylemaster v. Cattleman

Hi everyone. Looking into hats and was wondering if you could offer some insights on the Stylemaster and the Cattleman. I want a hat thats more outdoorsy-looking even though I live in NYC and plan to wear it with more business casual type clothing. I have a very small head and currently have the...
