Thank you. Thank you. I looked up Woolite, and saw that there is an extra delicate version available. That looks ideal.

What is the best way to go about washing the liner? Would washing it under running water be the correct method?

I don't have any fabric-specific soaps other than laundry detergent. Would hand soap (such as Dial or Irish Spring) work? Should the entire liner be submerged in water? And would rubbing diluted vinegar on the spots with a cotton ball be a bad idea?

I have a Borsalino that I bought at a local flea market. The lining on the inside has black mold/mildew in it. What's the best way to get it out? Here's a picture:

Do you know a good place (on or off this forum) where I could find detailed instructions (perhaps even tutorials) on how to properly clean a silk liner, as well as how to safely steam and clean the hat? I didn't know that. That's very interesting.

Do you have any recommendation on what to use for cleaning the liner? Also, what is your opinion of the current condition of the felt?

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

What is the reason for avoiding black suits during the day? Is it related to heat, or purely aesthetic?

Can a black suit go with a grey Fedora?

Interesting. I had thought that black suits were quite common in America back then. They seemed very common in photographs and in the movies of that era. Maybe I was mistaking gray or dark blue suits for black ones.

Based on the photo, which decade do you consider its design to most resemble the style of? Also, would you say that the brim would be considered stingy?

I see. I'll try newspaper or something similar first, then move on to compressible foam if that isn't satisfactory. Ah, that's good. Thank you for the clarification.
