Walking home from giving tuition, my Fed kept typical English summer drizzle off my glasses. I really cannot understand why everyone is not a hat-wearer.
Furthermore I naively thought that I was the only person who used their hat as a handy repository for all those things - keys, wallet...
Just finished reading "White Mughals: Love and Betrayal in Eighteenth-Century India" by William Dalrymple - I know this is an old book, but I have only recently come across it.
I became totally engrossed in this book. It is beautifully written. For me personally it also has many, many...
@LinaSophia: I have an old 300 series phone, similar to yours. I love it.
I am no expert, but this type of phone was issued from 1938 until the 1960s. Many of them have the drawer covered with a blanking plate - I think the earlier ones tended to have the drawer, but that often these got...
Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, but....
I have a wedding to attend and will wear my linen suit.
What hat would be the most suitable to accompany this look? I have both a brown and charcoal grey fedora - but feel that these are a bit too 'wintery'. My preferred choice...
I am just about to order a waistcoat from them...but I have not bought from them before. Their garments look authentically designed and well made (from what I can see) and as they appear to be a very small business with personal service, I would think they would be more than happy to entertain...
I would agree with that...fabulous music. My own choice would go, as composer, to John Barry. His soundtrack to 'Zulu' greatly added to the feeling of menace, whilst his music for 'Out of Africa' is quite simply beautiful, and evocative of the wide, hot plains...
Very sorry to hear about your mom...personal experience inevitably taints one's view of all things. I certainly meant no offence to you or anyone.
My point was really intended to be a general observation on some modern advances being good - but I would acknowledge that not all of them are!
Hmmm...I respect your choice...but I certainly would not concur. Firstly there is the 'risk element' - a flu shot may have drawbacks, but flu kills. Secondly, there are well proven, massive clinical benefits to vaccination: an individual's choice to forgo immunisation puts them, and those...
How about "Out of Africa" for some tropical hats?
The whole film glows in period detail. Robert Redford has some nice wide brimmed hats (and Meryl Streep has some good ones too!). If I could work out how to upload an image or two...I would. I'm sure somebody will be able to sometime.
I love Indy. His look is iconic. However...like somebody said earlier I could not really ever wear more than one item of his at any one time. So my brown Fed IV never goes with the brown leather jacket. It's a great look...but it's his, and as far as I'm concerned he's bagged it for himself!
