I believe the Whippet has a higher crown. And the photos I've seen of the modern Whippet, the crown is shaped/sloped differently than the Stylemaster.

Had to use mine today, on my Akubra Campdraft ...

I was recently wearing my silverbelly Akubra CD in a parking garage with a low ceiling and didn't duck quite low enough to clear an overhead pipe, resulting in a rusty smudge down one side of the crown starting at the pinch. A few good swipes with a stiff brush has rendered the blemish about 99...

Me too -- my first Akubra, a steal from eBay. It competes with my Campdraft for my greatest affection ;)

It's a "large." Snug? Ehhhh ... a bit tighter than my true 7 1/2's but not uncomfortably so. But if you're on the bigger end of the size, as your request for a 60 or 61 would indicate, it's probably a bit smaller than you need.

Wool or fur? I've got a brown wool felt Bailey fedora listed; I think the brim is nearly 3 inches, maybe 2 7/8 ...
