I have a set of Carroll Leather throw over saddlebags on my Sportster. My Puerto Fino Proper Topper fits nicely in the bags. It's made for travel, so I don't have to worry about crushing it. A Puerto Fino Rollup would be even better.

Almost all of the great blues players from the 30's through the 60's wore hats. Jimi Hendrix had a collection of hats. Ronnie Van Zandt always wore a custom gambler hat with a rattlesnake hatband.
Just to clarify, I always put my hat in the tray with my shoes, etc. But I've been asked at least twice to remove my hat when I present my photo ID to the TSA before I even get to the detector.
I usually stow mine overhead or under the seat in front of me.

I just received a new Akubra Federation Deluxe in black. I was waiting for colors other than the Loden before I ordered one. I'd hoped it would be offered in dark gray, but black is OK too.
The Stetson Pinnacle can be found online for under $300.
It won't be near the same quality as one of the custom hats, but still a pretty good deal for 100% beaver.
Thanks guys. That is my current favorite hat, a vintage Stratoliner. I'm not informed enough to know the approximate year, but my best guess is late 40's to 50's. It was open crowned, and in unworn condition when I received it.
