A Lounger's Guide To Vehicle Buying... Hatroom!

My hats fit well in my '09 Pontiac Vibe. Got mine as a used fleet vehicle for $12K. I bought it because the engine is a Toyota, and with tinted windows its quite slick.

What do you think of modern "Street/Punk" Fedoras?

I went to a Jason Maraz concert with the fiance last year. Half the guys there were wearing the cloth, pinstriped, short-brimmed...things. I had my FedIV. I got a lot of compliments and inquiries! Hopefully, leading by example helped a few people that night.

    Leather jacket alterations

Hello! I recently purchased a brown goat skin leather trench coat from the ol' ebay. It was sold at Harrod's in London by a designer named Ian Mankin (any info on him would be interesting... hint-hint). So here is the dilemma. The coat looks 1940-ish, but it has the sleeves of the...

    Federation or CEO...can't decide

I find that I gravitate to my Fed IV as my go-to hat. I get a lot of compliments on it. I will say that the big reason I like it is because I bashed it myself (my first bash- a diamond). It just seems more personal...;)

    NEWS BOY CAPS

Not to change the subject... But does anyone have any feedback about Emstate? I saw some of their newsboys at: winnercapsonline.com On a side note, I really like the look of the Marlon Brando, "Wild Ones", hat. Specifically, cloth with a leather bill. The Baron version is ridiculously...

    Rick Deckard coat Blade Runner

I don't get to post as often as I would like (I rarely have time to sleep!), but I will say this: That has got to be hands down one of the nicest coats I've seen in some time, regardless of the dead-on Bladerunner look. You should be proud!

    Indy's Sequel of Doom

Loved the movie! I personally loved the new Indy movie. I thought that it was a great blend of cold war era / war of the worlds / pulp action. I really thought that they (writers) outdid themselves in concept. Now, not all of the dialoge was fantastic, but this is a return to the "popcorn...

    Shoes...no clue!

Hello! I'm attempting to put together a Scottish Highland Regimental outfit; and so far I've had pretty good success in finding what I need. Except for the brogues! I am at a complete loss as to where to find proper period footwear. So I come to you, fellow Loungers, for help. Thanks...

    rebirth of the fedora

As a member of Toastmasters International, I'm preparing to do a speech on the decline of hat wearing in the US. Although I don't get to post very often, this site has always been a wealth of information in all aspects. My speech topic is, as you may have guessed, based on the fact that I wear...

    Breathable Fedora (non-woven)

Hello gents. Alright, I'm just not a big fan of woven hats. With that out of the way. Who makes a good, breathable, summer-ish hat these days?

    Wearing a Fedora

Go for it I got my first fedora at 17. Black, nothing special, but I loved it (and it went with everything). Caught a lot of flak for it, got a lot of compliments. But it always seemed...right. So if it's who you are, or who you think you are, then try it. You can always look like everyone...

    The Curse of Indiana Jones

The color isn't going to matter... After a couple of Indy comments (good natured ribbing), I decided to hang up my brown fedora for a while. So there I was walking into work; black suit, green shirt, green fedora w/ black ribbon. And from the covered smoking area outside comes: "Hey...
